Asentenceisagroupofwordsthatexpressesacompletethought.Everysentencehastwobasicparts,asubjectandapredicate.
Thesubjectisthenamingpartofthesentence,representingtheperson,place,orthingthatperformstheactionoftheverborexpressingtheconditionorstateoftheverb.Subjects
arenounsandotherformsthatcanfunctionasnouns,suchaspronouns,clauses,infinitivesandgerunds.Asubjectusuallycomesfirstinasentence.Itisthetopicaboutwhichthespeakerorwriterisspeakingorwriting.Forexample,
1)Mygrandfatherboughtthecarmanyyearsago.2)Thecarwasboughtmanyyearsagobymygrandfather.Fillintheblanks:
