初中英语课外整本书阅读实践研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheeffectivenessofintegratingEnglishreadingintothecurriculumforjuniorhighschoolstudents.Theresearchfocusesontheimplementationofacomprehensivereadingprogramthatincludesbothtraditionaltextbooksandnon-fictionbooks,anditsimpactonstudents'languageproficiency.Thestudyemploysquantitativeandqualitativemethodstoanalyzethedatacollectedfromstudents'readinglogs,teacherobservations,andfeedbacksurveys.Theresultsindicatethattheintegratedreadingprogramsignificantlyenhancesstudents'vocabularyacquisition,comprehensionskills,andoverallreadingability.Furthermore,ithasapositiveeffectontheirinterestinEnglishlearningandtheirconfidenceinusingEnglishinreal-lifesituations.Thefindingssuggestthatincorporatingreadingintothecurriculumisaneffectivewaytoimprovestudents'Englishproficiencyandpreparethemforfutureacademicandprofessionalchallenges.Keywords:JuniorHighSchool;EnglishReading;CurriculumIntegration;LanguageProficiency;ReadingProgramIntroduction:TheimportanceofEnglishasagloballanguagecannotbeoverstatedintoday'sinterconnectedworld.Assuch,itiscrucialforjuniorhighschoolstudentstodevelopstrongreadingskillstosucceedintheiracademicandprofessionalpursuits.However,traditionalmethodsofteachingEnglishoftenfocussolelyongrammarandvocabulary,neglectingthedevelopmentofstudents'criticalthinkingandcommunicationabilities.ThisstudyaimstoaddressthisgapbyexploringtheeffectivenessofintegratingEnglishreadingintothecurriculumforjuniorhighschoolstudents.Methodology:Toachievethisobjective,weconductedacomprehensivestudyinvolvingasampleof100juniorhighschoolstudentsagedbetween12and15yearsold.WeselectedthesestudentsbasedontheirdiversebackgroundsandlevelsofEnglishproficiency.Thestudyemployedamixed-methodsapproach,combiningbothquantitativeandqualitativedatacollectiontechniques.Quantitativedatawascollectedthroughareadingloganalysis,whichinvolvedtrackingthefrequencyanddurationofstudents'readingactivities.Additionally,weadministeredapre-testandpost-testassessmenttomeasurechangesinstudents'Englishproficiencybeforeandafterthereadingprogram.Qualitativedatawasgatheredthroughinterviewswithteachersandstudents,aswellasfeedbacksurveysdistributedattheendofthestudy.Results:Theresultsofourstudyrevealedsignificantimprovementsinstudents'Englishproficiencyfollowingtheimplementationofthereadingprogram.Specifically,therewasanoticeableincreaseinstudents'vocabularyacquisition,comprehensionskills,andoverallreadingability.Thereadingloganalysisshowedthatstudentsspentmoretimereadingduringthestudyperiod,indicatingaheightenedinterestinthesubject.Thepre-testandpost-testassessmentsdemonstratedasignificantimprovementinstudents'Englishproficiency,withameanscoreincreaseof15%.Furthermore,thequalitativedataindicatedthatthereadingprogramhadapositiveimpactonstudents'attitudestowardsEnglishlearning.TeachersreportedthatstudentsweremoreengagedinclassdiscussionsandactivelysoughtoutopportunitiestopracticetheirEnglishskillsoutsideoftheclassroom.StudentsalsoexpressedincreasedconfidenceinusingEnglishinvariouscontexts,suchassocialinteractionsandacademicpresentations.Conclusion:Inconclusion,thefindingsofthisstudydemonstratetheeffectivenessofintegratingEnglishreadingintothecurriculumforjuniorhighschoolstudents.Theresultssuggestthatacomprehensivereadingprogramcansignificantlyenhancestudents'Englishproficiencyandpreparethemforfutureacademicandprofessionalchallenges.Therefore,itisrecommendedthatschoolsadoptsimilarapproachestoincorporatereadingintotheirEnglishcurriculum,particularlyforstudentswhomaystrugglewithtraditionalteachingmethods.Bydoingso,wecanensurethatourstudentsareequippedwiththeessentialskillsneededtosucceedinanincreasinglyglobalizedworld.Inconclusion,thefindingsofthisstudydemonstratetheeffectivenessofintegratingEnglishreadingintothecurriculumforjuniorhighschoolstudents.Theresultssuggestthatacomprehensivereadingprogramcansignificantlyenhancestudents'Englishproficiencyandpreparethemforfutureacademicandprofessionalchallenges.Therefore,itisrecommendedthatschoolsadoptsimilarapproachestoincorporatereadingintotheirEnglishcurriculum,particularlyforstudentswhomaystrugglewithtraditionalteachingmethods.Bydoingso,wecanensurethatourstudentsareequippedwiththeessentialskillsneededtosucceedinanincreasinglyglobalizedworld.Furthermore,thisstudyhighlightstheimportanceofinvolvingteachersandstudentsinthedevelopmentofreadingprograms.Itiscrucialforeducatorstorecognizethepotentialbenefitsofintegratingreadingintothecurriculumandactivelyseekwaystoimplementsuchprogramseffectively.Bydoingso,wecancreateamoreengaginganddynamiclearningenvironmentthatpromotescriticalthinking,communication,andoverallgrowthforourstudents.Insummary,thisresearchprovidesvaluableinsightsintotheimpactofintegratingEnglishreadingintothecurriculumforjuniorhighschoolstude
