Hemisphere,theatmosphericfloweventuallydistributesthepollutantsglobally.
Recently,researchersfromETHZurichandthePhysicalMeteorologicalObservatoryinDavos,
incooperationwithLauraRevell’sinternationalteamattheUniversityofCanterbury,useda
chemistry-climatemodeltoseehowfutureemissionsmightimpacttheozonelayerby2030.
With2,040annuallaunchesby2030—roughlyeighttimesthe2024total—themodelpredicts
thatglobalaverageozonethicknesswoulddecreasebynearly0.3%.Seasonallossescouldreach
asmuchas4%overAntarctica,wheretheozoneholecontinuestoreappeareachspring.
Whilethesereductionsmayappearsmall,thecontextiscritical.Theozonelayerisstill
