认知隐喻视角下《伤寒论》症状术语英译研究Abstract:Thisstudyaimstoexplorethetranslationofsymptomstermsin"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases"fromacognitivemetaphorperspective.Byanalyzingthesourcetextandtargettext,thispaperattemptstorevealtheunderlyingcognitivemechanismsbehindthetranslationoftheseterms,andtoprovidevaluableinsightsforfuturetranslationpractice.Introduction:The"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases,"writtenbyLiShizhenduringtheTangDynasty,isoneofthemostinfluentialmedicalclassicsinChinesehistory.Itnotonlycontainsawealthofclinicalexperienceandtheoreticalknowledgebutalsohasarichvocabularyofsymptomsandsigns.However,duetoculturaldifferencesandlanguagebarriers,thetranslationofthesetermsintoEnglishhasalwaysbeenachallengingtaskfortranslators.Inrecentyears,cognitivemetaphortheoryhasbeenappliedtotranslationstudies,providinganewperspectiveforunderstandingthenatureoftranslation.Thispaperwillusethecognitivemetaphorperspectivetoanalyzethetranslationofsymptomstermsin"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases."Methodology:Thisstudyadoptsaqualitativeresearchapproach,mainlyusingthecognitivemetaphortheorytoanalyzethetranslationofsymptomstermsin"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases."Thesourcetextandtargettextareselectedfromdifferenteditionsofthebook,withanemphasisonthetermsthathavebeentranslatedintoEnglish.Theauthor'sintentionsandcognitiveprocessesbehindthetranslationareanalyzedthroughthelensofcognitivemetaphortheory.Additionally,thetranslationstrategiesusedbythetranslatorsarealsoconsideredintheanalysis.Results:Throughtheanalysisofthesourcetextandtargettext,itisfoundthatthetranslationofsymptomstermsin"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases"ofteninvolvestheuseofcognitivemetaphors.Forexample,theterm"鍙戠儹"(fevers)istranslatedas"fever"(fever),whichisacommonterminEnglish.However,inChinese,"鍙戠儹"usuallyreferstoahighbodytemperature,whileinEnglish,itcanalsorefertoafeelingofwarmthorexcitement.Therefore,thetranslatormayneedtochoosebetween"fever"and"heat."Similarly,theterm"澶寸棝"(headache)istranslatedas"headache,"whichisadirecttranslationoftheoriginalmeaning.However,inChinese,"澶寸棝"canalsorefertoamentalstateofconfusionoranxiety.Therefore,thetranslatormayneedtoconsiderwhethertotranslateitas"headache"or"headache."Conclusion:Fromtheperspectiveofcognitivemetaphortheory,thetranslationofsymptomstermsin"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases"involvestheuseofcognitivemetaphors.Thetranslatorneedstoconsiderboththesourcetextandtargettextwhenchoosingtranslationstrategies.Additionally,thetranslatorshouldbeawareoftheculturaldifferencesbetweenChineseandEnglishandtrytoconveytheoriginalmeaningofthesymptomstermsinthetargetlanguageasaccuratelyaspossible.OnlybydoingsocanweachieveeffectivecommunicationbetweendifferentculturesandpromotethedisseminationofChinesemedicalculture.Conclusion:Fromtheperspectiveofcognitivemetaphortheory,thetranslationofsymptomstermsin"TreatiseonFebrileDiseases"involvestheuseofcognitivemetaphors.Thetranslatorneedstoconsiderboththesourcetextandtargettextwhenchoosingtranslationstrategies.Additionally,thetranslatorshouldbeawareoftheculturaldifferencesbetweenChineseandEnglishandtrytoconveytheoriginalmeaningofthesymptomstermsi
