英语模糊限制语的同传策略研究——一项基于联合国安理会会议语料库的研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoexplorethetranslationstrategiesadoptedbytranslatorsduringtheinterpretationofambiguousandrestrictedEnglishlanguageinconferencesoftheUnitedNationsSecurityCouncil.Theresearchisbasedonacorpusofconferencetranscriptsfromthepasttwodecades,specificallyfocusingontheinterpretationofkeydocumentsandspeechesbytheSecurityCouncilmembers.Thestudyemploysaqualitativeresearchapproach,utilizingbothdescriptiveandanalyticalmethodstoanalyzethetranslationtechniquesemployedbytranslators.Thefindingsrevealthattranslatorsoftenresorttovariousstrategiessuchasparaphrasing,contextualadjustments,andusingidiomaticexpressionstoconveytheintendedmeaningofthetextwhilemaintainingitsnuancesandculturalrelevance.Thestudyalsohighlightstheimportanceofcross-culturalcompetenceandsensitivitytowardsthepoliticalanddiplomaticcontextinwhichtheconferencesareheld.Theimplicationsofthesefindingsfortranslationeducationandpracticearediscussed,suggestingthatfuturetrainingprogramsshouldincorporatemorepracticalexercisesthatsimulatereal-worldconferencesituations.Introduction:TheUnitedNationsSecurityCouncil(UNSC)playsacrucialroleininternationalaffairsbyprovidingaforumformemberstatestodiscussandresolveglobalsecurityissues.Asoneofthemostimportantbodiesintheworld,theUNSCmeetingsareattendedbydiplomats,scholars,andmediaprofessionalswhostrivetoaccuratelyinterpretthediscussionsanddecisionsmadeduringthesesessions.However,duetothecomplexityofthelanguageandthesensitivenatureofthetopicsdiscussed,itisnotuncommonfortheinterpretationtobeambiguousorrestricted.ThispaperaimstoinvestigatethetranslationstrategiesemployedbytranslatorsduringtheinterpretationofambiguousandrestrictedEnglishlanguageinconferencesoftheUNSC.Methodology:Thestudyutilizesacorpusofconferencetranscriptsfromthepasttwodecades,specificallyfocusingontheinterpretationofkeydocumentsandspeechesbytheSecurityCouncilmembers.Thecorpuswascollectedfromvarioussources,includingofficialUNSCwebsites,academicjournals,andnewsreports.Theanalysiswasconductedusingbothdescriptiveandanalyticalmethods.Descriptiveanalysisinvolvedidentifyingcommonthemesandpatternsinthetranslationstrategiesusedbytranslators.Analyticalanalysisfocusedonidentifyingtheunderlyingfactorsthatinfluencedthetranslationchoicesmadebytranslators.Results:Thefindingsofthestudyrevealthattranslatorsoftenresorttovariousstrategiestoconveytheintendedmeaningofthetextwhilemaintainingitsnuancesandculturalrelevance.Thesestrategiesincludeparaphrasing,contextualadjustments,andusingidiomaticexpressions.Forexample,whentranslatingphraseslike"suspend"or"restore"withoutspecifyingthedurationorconditions,translatorsoftenuseequivalentexpressionsthatconveythesameideabutwithdifferentnuances.Similarly,whentranslatingreferencestospecificcountriesorregions,translatorsoftenuseneutraltermsthatavoidoffendinganyparty.However,despitetheeffortsmadebytranslatorstomaintaintheaccuracyandclarityofthetranslation,thereareinstanceswheretheinterpretationbecomesambiguousorrestrictive.Theseinstancesoftenariseduetothecomplexitiesinherentinthelanguageandthesensitivenatureofthetopicsdiscussed.Forexample,whentranslatingphraseslike"humanitarianintervention"or"peacekeeping,"translatorsmaystruggletofindanappropriatewordthatconveysthesameideawithoutoffendinganyparty.Implications:Theimplicationsofthisstudyfortranslationeducationandpracticearesignificant.Ithighlightstheimportanceofcross-culturalcompetenceandsensitivitytowardsthepoliticalanddiplomaticcontextinwhichtheconferencesareheld.Translatorsneedtobetrainednotonlytounderstandthetechnicalaspectsofthelanguagebutalsotoappreciatetheculturalandpoliticaldimensionsofthediscussions.Additionally,thestudysuggeststhatfuturetrainingprogramsshouldincorporatemorepracticalexercisesthatsimulatereal-worldconferencesituations,allowingtranslatorstodeveloptheirskillsunderrealisticconditions.Conclusion:Inconclusion,thisstudyprovidesvaluableinsightsintothetranslationstrategiesemployedbytranslatorsduringtheinterpretationofambiguousandrestrictedEnglishlanguageinconferencesoftheUNSC.Whiletranslatorsmakeeffortstomaintaintheaccuracyandclarityofthetranslation,thereareinstanceswheretheinterpretationbecomesambiguousorrestrictive.Theimplicationsofthisstudyfortranslationeducationandpracticesuggestthatfuturetrainingprogramsshouldfocusondevelopingtranslators'cross-culturalcompetenceandsensitivitytowardsthepoliticalanddiplomaticcontext.Inconclusion,thisstudyprovidesvaluableinsightsintothetranslationstrategiesemployedbytranslatorsduringtheinterpretationofambiguousandrestrictedEnglishlanguageinconferencesoftheUNSC.Whiletranslatorsmakeeffortstomaintaintheaccuracyandclarityofthetranslation,thereareinstanceswheretheinterpretationbecomesambiguousorrestrictive.Theimplicationsofthisstudyfortranslationeducationandpracticesuggestthatfuturetrainingprogramsshouldfocusondevelopingtranslators'cross-cultural
