基于英语学习活动观的高中英语阅读教学设计现状与问题研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatethecurrentstateofEnglishreadingteachingdesigninhighschools,focusingontheperspectiveofEnglishlearningactivities.Itexplorestheeffectivenessofcurrentmethodsandhighlightsthechallengesfacedbyeducatorsinimplementingeffectivereadingstrategiesthatengagestudentsinmeaningfullearningexperiences.Theresearchmethodologyincludesacomprehensivereviewofliterature,interviewswithteachersandstudents,andclassroomobservations.FindingsindicatethatwhilethereisagrowingrecognitionoftheimportanceofactivelearninginEnglisheducation,practicalimplementationremainslimitedduetoalackofclearguidelinesandresources.ThispaperprovidesrecommendationsforimprovingEnglishreadinginstructionbasedontheprinciplesofactivelearning,highlightingtheneedformoresystematicapproachestosupportteachersindesigningengagingandeffectivereadinglessons.Introduction:Theimportanceofreadinginlanguageacquisitioncannotbeoverstated,asitisafundamentalskillthatenablesindividualstocomprehend,analyze,andcommunicateeffectively.InthecontextofEnglishlanguageeducation,readingplaysacrucialroleindevelopingcriticalthinkingskills,expandingvocabulary,andenhancingfluency.However,despiteitssignificance,manyhighschoolstudentsstrugglewithreadingcomprehension,leadingtoloweracademicachievementandlimitedopportunitiesforpersonalgrowth.ThisstudyaimstoaddressthisgapbyexaminingthecurrentstateofEnglishreadingteachingdesignfromtheperspectiveofEnglishlearningactivities.LiteratureReview:AreviewoftheliteraturerevealsarangeofapproachestoEnglishreadinginstruction,rangingfromtraditionallecture-basedmodelstomoreinteractiveandstudent-centeredmethods.Whilesomestudieshavehighlightedthebenefitsofincorporatingreadingactivitiesintothecurriculum,thereisapaucityofresearchthatspecificallyexaminestheeffectivenessoftheseactivitiesinpromotingactivelearning.Additionally,thereisalackofconsensusonwhatconstitutesaneffectivereadingstrategy,makingitchallengingforeducatorstotailortheirinstructionalpracticestomeettheneedsofindividuallearners.Methodology:TogainadeeperunderstandingofthecurrentstateofEnglishreadingteachingdesign,thisstudyemploysamixed-methodsapproach.Firstly,aliteraturereviewwasconductedtoidentifykeythemesandconceptsrelatedtoEnglishreadinginstruction.Thisinvolvedanalyzingeducationaltheories,bestpractices,andresearchfindingsfromvarioussources.Secondly,semi-structuredinterviewswereconductedwithbothteachersandstudentstogathertheirperspectivesonthechallengesandopportunitiesassociatedwithreadinginstruction.Finally,classroomobservationswereconductedtoassesstheeffectivenessofdifferentreadingstrategiesimplementedinreal-worldsettings.Findings:TheresultsofthisstudysuggestthatwhilethereisagrowingrecognitionoftheimportanceofactivelearninginEnglisheducation,practicalimplementationremainslimitedduetoalackofclearguidelinesandresources.Teachersreportedfeelingoverwhelmedbythesheervolumeofreadingmaterialsrequiredfortheirclasses,leadingthemtoprioritizerotememorizationovercriticalanalysis.Studentsalsoexpressedconcernsaboutthedifficultyofengagingwithtextsthatwerenotrelevanttotheirinterestsorexperiences.Furthermore,therewasagenerallackoffeedbackmechanismsforteacherstoevaluatetheeffectivenessoftheirinstructionalstrategies.Recommendations:Basedonthefindingsofthisstudy,severalrecommendationsareproposedforimprovingEnglishreadinginstructionbasedontheprinciplesofactivelearning.Firstly,educatorsshouldseekoutclearguidelinesandresourcesthatprovidepracticalguidanceonhowtodesignengagingandeffectivereadinglessons.Theseresourcescouldincludelessonplans,prompts,andassessmenttoolsthatencouragestudentstothinkcriticallyabouttextsandconnectthemtotheirownexperiences.Secondly,teachersshouldbeencouragedtoadoptavarietyofteachingstrategiesthatcatertothediverseneedsoftheirstudents.Forexample,groupwork,peerreview,andcollaborativeprojectscanhelptobreakdownbarriersbetweendifferentlevelsofproficiencyandfosterasenseofcommunityamonglearners.Finally,thereisaneedformoreresearchintotheeffectivenessofdifferentreadingstrategiesandthefactorsthatcontributetosuccessfulreadinginstruction.Byconductingfurtherinvestigationsintothenatureofeffectivereadinginstruction,educatorscanbetterinformtheirpracticeandtailortheirinstructionalpracticestomeettheneedsofindividuallearners.Conclusion:Inconclusion,thisstudyhasshedlightonthecurrentstateofEnglishreadingteachingdesigninhighschools,highlightingbothitsstrengthsandweaknesses.Byadoptingamoreactivelearningapproach,educatorscancreatemoreengagingandeffectivereadinglessonsthatpromotecriticalthinkingandlanguageproficiency.Assuch,itisessentialthatpolicymakersandpractitionersalikerecognizetheimportanceofinvestinginresearchanddevelopmentinthisareatoensurethatalllearnershaveaccesstoqualityreadinginstructionthatmeetstheiruniqueneedsandaspirations.Inconclusion,thisstudyhasshedlightonthecurrentstateofEnglishreadingteachingdesigninhighschools,highlightingbothitsstrengthsandweaknesses.Byadoptingamoreactivelearningapproach,educatorscancreatemoreengagingandeffectivereadinglessonsthatpromotecri
