1.CoreObjectives

1.3CultivateCriticalThinkingandLearningAbilities:Engageinanalytical,evaluative,andcreativethinkingprocessesthroughlanguagelearning;developautonomouslearningstrategies,metacognitiveskills,andthecapacityforlifelonglearning.

1.4EnhanceOverallLiteracy:UseEnglishasatooltoaccessinformation,acquireknowledge,expressideas,andparticipateinintellectualandsocialactivities,therebycontributingtothedevelopmentoftheirgeneralliteracyandpersonalwell-being.

2.ContentStandards

2.1LanguageKnowledge

Learnersshouldacquireandapply:

*Vocabulary:Arangeofvocabulary,includingcorewords,topic-relatedlexis,andacademicvocabulary,withanunderstandingofwordmeanings,collocations,andusageincontext.

*Grammar:Essentialgrammaticalstructuresandrules,enablingtheformationofgrammaticallycorrectandmeaningfulsentencesandtexts,andtheaccurateinterpretationofothers'utterancesandwritings.

2.2LanguageSkills

Learnersshoulddevelopproficiencyin:

*Speaking:Expressideasclearly,fluently,andcoherentlyinspokeninteractions(e.g.,dialogues,discussions,presentations,debates)usingappropriatevocabulary,grammar,pronunciation,andnon-verbalcues,adaptingtodifferentpurposes,audiences,andcontexts.

*Reading:Understandandinterpretawiderangeofwrittentexts(e.g.,articles,stories,essays,reports,onlinematerials)fordifferentpurposes(e.g.,获取信息,pleasure,academicstudy),usingeffectivereadingstrategies(e.g.,skimming,scanning,inferring,predicting).

*Translating/Interpreting(whereapplicable):RendermeaningaccuratelyandappropriatelybetweenEnglishandthemothertongue,consideringculturalnuancesandcontext.

Learnersshoulddevelop:

*ReflectandMetacognate:Thinkabouttheirownthinkingprocesses,learningstrategies,andprogress,andmakeadjustmentsaccordingly.

Learnersshoulddevelop:

*InformationandMediaLiteracy:Theabilitytolocate,access,evaluate,anduseinformationfromvarioussources,includingdigitalmedia,ethicallyandresponsibly.

3.1AdoptaLearner-CenteredApproach:Focusonlearners'needs,interests,andcognitivedevelopment,designingengagingandinteractivelearningactivitiesthatpromoteactiveparticipationandmeaningfullanguageuse.

3.2IntegrateLanguageSkillsandContent:Createopportunitiesfortheintegrateduseoflistening,speaking,reading,andwritingwithinauthenticorsimulatedcontexts,oftenlinkedtomeaningfulcontentfromothersubjectareasorreal-lifeexperiences.

4.AssessmentandEvaluation

Assessmentshouldserveasatoolto:

4.2InformInstruction:Guideteachersinadjustingtheirteachingstrategiesandprovidingtargetedsupporttolearners.
