4、NS,FANS BACKGROUND,FANS (future air navigation system): 1983, ICAO council tasked it special committee on FANS to make recommendations to upgrade the CNS system to cope with the evolution of the world wide traffic. 1989, a second committee was created aiming at the implementation of the CNS/ATM conc

Concept for future airspace management based on new technologies : positioning by satellite communication by data link,WHY FANS ?,The general objectives of FANS (CNS/ATM) are to : Increase airspace capacity Enhance operational flexibility while allowing continued safety of air traffic These obj

6、ectives are achievable by : improving Air Traffic Control (ATC) procedures using : data communications satellite-based navigation Airlines with equipped aircraft will get operational advantage,FANS (CNS/ATM) is to use airspace more efficiently,FANS BENEFITS,FANS (CNS/ATM) implementation must benefit

7、 to the various actors of aviation : airspace users Airlines General aviation Military ATC service providers others (equipment manufacturers, communication service providers, .) It should be noted that, even if airlines are the main drivers for FANS implementation, other actors investments depend on

It is based on modular and flexible avionics upgrades. Init

12、ial steps have been identified:,FANS A from 2000 (A330/A340 only),FANS B from 2002,FMS GPS Based,ACARS networks ATSU for ATC + AOC (ATC per RTCA definition.),FMS GNSS Based,Navigation,Communication & Surveillance,ATN network ATSU for ATC + AOC (ATC per ICAO definition),pre-FANS from 1998,FMS GPS (op

13、tional),ACARS networks ATSU for AOC only,ATSU CONFIGURATIONS,CONCLUSION FOR AIM-FANS,FANS (CNS/ATM) is implemented to support air traffic growth Significant operational benefits may be available for equipped aircraft Airbus offers AIM-FANS, a flexible approach to CNS/ATM implementation to cover grad

14、ual, benefits-driven implementation of ATM environment worldwide to allow airlines to transition at their preferred pace towards “FANS” world start with existing airline datalink capability designed to support upgrades for ATC datalink AIM-FANS design has been validated with airlines It is based on

15、common hardware (ATSU, DCDU, FMS) for all Airbus fly-by-wire fleets (A319/A320/A321, A330/A340), as well as some common software.
