The table of the banquet is round to have a feel of unity polite and share. The delicious food would

3、 be put on the table and all kinds of food has only a share. The order of serving the dishes is desired before, generally, the cold dishes are served first. And the speed of serving the dishes accords to the eating speed of the guests. Although this kind of eating habit is not heath, it accords with

4、 the unity of Chinese nation. The seats of every guest must be arranged by rule. For example, the oldest people sit at the most important seat.,II The Table Manners,In Western countries, the shape of dining-table is oblong. The shape of the table reflects the independence. Among the people, physical

5、 contact is generally avoided, because they believe in individualism and the individual space is very important. And their dishes and food are divided. In banquets, generally, they have buffet.,II The Table Manners,The core of Chinese culture system is Confucianism which stress similitude and blend.

6、 Therefore, Chinese like to cook all seasoning together. However, the core of Western culture is Christian which stress the differences and independence. So their food is divided respectively.While in Western countries private ownership is their public system, they cook food firstly and then distrib

7、ute the food, next the guests get their own food and eat. The geographical location of China and Western countries is different. China is the closed continental geography, and the majority of Western countries are open oceanic geography. So the Western food have more seafood.,III The Diet Culture,Ch
