Unit 4 Astronomy:the science of the stars天文学:恒星科学晨读记忆 Explore MKII MKII, a planet billions of kilometers away, is the origin of life in many religions. Physicists have proved the theory that its gentle climate and the pull of its gravity are similar to the earths. And astronomers have found that oxygen atoms and carbon dioxide, which are fundamental to life, exist in its atmosphere through satellites. Cheered up by this news, biologists, in their turn, began to do some research to remove peoples puzzlesNow that there are some suitable conditions, does life really exist on this globe? Do they multiply by laying eggs or giving birth to babies? Last month, a spaceship was sent there. Its a pity that this mission failed. Unlike the earth, MKII is a much younger planet. Thus, masses of harmful acid clouds float everywhere causing violent chain reactions to break out. These clouds not only blocked out the pilots sight but also damaged the engine system. Luckily, the pilots watched out carefully and prevented the spaceship from crashing in time. I.单词盘点1._(n.) 天文学2._(n.) 系统;体系;制度 3._(n.) 太阳系4._(n.) 宗教;宗教信仰 _(adj.) 宗教上的;虔诚的 5._(n.) 学说;理论 6._(n.) 原子7._(pron.&n.&adj.) 万亿; 十亿8._(n.) 球体;地球仪;地球_(adj.) 全球性的;全世界的 9._(adj.) 暴力;暴行10._(n.) 碳11._(prep.) _(adj.) 基本的;基础的13._(adj.) 有害的_(n.&v.) 损害;伤害;危害_(adj.) 无害的14._(n.) 酸 15._(n.) 链子;连锁;锁链 16._(vt.&vi.)乘;增加17._(n.) 氧18._(vi.) 存在;生存 _(n.) 存在;生存19._(adv.) 因此;于是 20._(n.) 二氧化物21._(n.) 感到迷惑的 _(adj.) 令人迷惑的22._(n.) 生物学 _(n.) 生物学家 23._(n.) 万有引力;重力24._(n.) 卫星;人造卫星 25._(adj.) 温和的;文雅的26._(n.) 物理学家_(n.) 物理学27._(n.) 气候28._(vt.&vi.) 碰撞;坠落 29._(n.) 宇宙飞船 30._(n.&v.) 拉(力);拖;牵引力31._(vi.&vt.)
