Without them the completion of the thesis would not have been possible.Abstract:As the represents of the Chinese and the Western cultures,Chinese-American cultural differences has not be neglected. Because each ethnic group has its own history, culture, values and moral standards, it is a certainty that Chinese culture is different from American culture in many respects. This paper analyses the differences in Chinese and American culture from two parts, including basic principles of the creative thought differences, philosophy of education difference by taking this film as breakthrough point. This thesis also introductions the unique charm of national culture. The characteristic of China: Such as kung-fu, the praiseworthy team spirit. The characteristic of America: Strong sense of self-worth, the courage and consciousness in danger. Every ethnic group has its own splendid national culture. Therefore, on the precondition of mutual understanding and mutual respect, the coexistence of Chinese-American culture is practicable. It is necessary to improve the quality of communication between the two different cultures, in order to achieve a better intercultural communication. It is an inspirational story of rescuing the village by beating the evildoer. This paper analyses the differences in Chinese and American culture and the unique charm of national culture by taking this film as breakthrough point. Some of the goals are to open up possibilities for discovery and expand learning and the chance for mutual acceptance and recognition in a wider world, it may be important to offer us a perspective on our own immediate center of the world by enabling us to participate sensitively as cross-cultural sojourners to the center of someone elses world. Therefore, on the precondition of mutual understanding and mutual respect, the coexistence of Chinese-American culture is practicable. It is necessary to improve the quality of communication between the two different cultures, in order to achieve a better intercultural communication.Chapter Two Chinese-American Cultural DifferencesAt the first sight, Kung-fu panda is a movie which is full of Chinese style. Think it over, and you will find the differences between Chinese and American culture. Such as the basic principles of the creative thought differences, the philosophy of education differences.2.1 Basic principles of the creative thought differencesCreativity is a soul of the nations progress, the prosperity of the country inexhaustible force. To the future of the nation, we need to enhance our creativity.The color of the pandas eyes is green, not as we know it. Although panda is the unique animal of china, in this film,it looks likes the monster Shrek more than a charmingly naive panda. Its funniest language style is a mark of characteristics of American. The pandas father is drake. In our Chinese opinion, it is impossible. And its the product of Americans creating thought. From the choice about character, we can see that Chinese regard authenticity as the basic principles, and American think the creativeness is more important.2.1.1 The quality of creative talent Creative talent should begin with a spirit of innovation. The American students do not need the mechanical memorizing, but display creative thought as far as possible; it can cultivate students study interest, raise the ability of doing it by oneself and make the study be one kind of creative action. We can find the beauty and special parts of Chinese and American culture from three close-ups of the film.3.1 The characteristic of chinaIn the film, you can find out the representative of Chinese culture here and there. Such as broken bridge, tavern, chopsticks, even the foodnoodles and so on. Many scenes of the film remind us of the Chinese ink and wash.3.1.1Kung-fuKung fu films have popularized traditional Chinese martial arts throughout the world. A part of the Oriental Civilization, Chinese Kung-fu is effective both in battle and in building physical strength. This was ranked higher than several factors, including merit and performance, leadership skills, intelligence, making money for the organization and long hours.3.2The characteristic of AmericaThe main content of American culture is the emphasize on individuals value, the pursue of democracy and freedom, the promotion of deploitation and competition and the need of realistic and practicality.3.2.1 Strong sense of self-worthAbove close-up also expresses another characteristic of America, individuals value. In the film teamwork does not effect, and the five masters failed at last.
