ChapterOneIntroductionSuperheroesarefictionalheroes,originallycreatedforAmericanorJapanesecomics,butlatergiventheirownoriginalsuperheroesfortelevisionandfilm.Theyhavethespecialabilitytotranscendordinarypeople,performextraordinaryfeatsandheroicacts,protectpeople,andfightevilforces.TheMarvelCinematicUniversebeganthefirstphaseofIronManin2008:TheAvengersuntil2012;thesecondphaseof2013:theNewWorlduntilAnt-Manin2015;thethirdphaseofCaptainAmerica3:CivilWarin2016:theRiseofUnknownHeroesuntilSpider-Man:FarfromHomein2019;andthefourthphaseofBlackWidowin2021.Forexample,WangYuanzhuo,ShenYinghanandLuYuanfoundthatthetechnologyusedinMarvelmoviesin2022shouldbebigdataandanalyzedthecharacterizationofthe“superhero”ofMarvelbasedonbigdata.IronMan’sAIbutler,the“Zolaalgorithm”inCaptainMarvel2,allhighlighttheuseofbigdataforresearchinitscharacterizationandshowtheimportanceandconvenienceofbigdatainfilmmaking.SuchasforeignresearchstatusMayoRobin2022inScienceFictionFilm&Televisionpointedoutthatmarvelmoviearmynotonlyhasafearlessbatmanandthenalsoappearedalarge“giantship”mechanicalweapons,wherecanbesaidtobeborntodescribe,alsoseefromtheopposite“superhero”undertheattackofthehostilecamppowerful,stepbystep,perfecttheircharacters.Stemorrootofplants.Basedontheanalysisoftheexistingliterature,thispaperanalyzesthe“superhero”charactersinMarvelmovies,furtheranalyzesthebackgroundcontentandthesocialvaluescontainedinthemoviesandhasanin-depthunderstandingofthecharacteristicsofthecharacters.Thisarticleprovidessomesuggestionsonhowtoshapethefullerimageofheromoviecharacters.ChapterTwoEvolutionPathofthe“Superhero”CharacterThesuperherosourceisduetoagroupofyoungpeopletoescapetheGreatDepressioneconomy,createdtheoriginalsuperhero.Theemergenceofsuperheroes,ofthemostimportantsignificanceintherealworld,isundoubtedlythe“hope”itbrings,aswellasthespreadofhopeandthemotivationofhope.2.1Originofthe“Superhero”CharactersTheoriginofSuperheroes:TheoriginofsuperheroesisSuperman’sfirstappearanceinActionComicsmagazine,aDCseries,in1938.By1940,theactioncomicwassellingamillioncopiesamonth.Theageofsuperheroeshasarrived,andsuperhero-themedgamescancatertobothsetsoffans.TheHollywoodfilmmarkethasaspecialtheme“superhero”.Americansuperheroeshaveaveryshorthistory.UnlikeChina,whichhasahistoryof5,000years,therearecountlessmythologicalfiguresandrealheroes.However,theUnitedStateslackssuchhistoricalconditionsandcanonlymakesomesuperheroesthemselves.DuringWorldWarII,superheroeswereverypopularduetothehistoricalbackgroundofthetime.Sucha“hero”isdesperatelyneededto“savetheworld”andhehopethatgoodcantriumphoverevil.Inaddition,theUnitedStatesisanimmigrantsociety,andthecultureofthesesuperheroescreatedbyHollywoodisveryclosetothatoftheUnitedStates.Therichimagesandcharactersofthesesuperheroessupportandconfirmthe“meltingpot”cultureofAmericanethnicintegration.AmericansuperheroesaretheepitomeoftheAmericandream,andmostofthesuperheroimagesonthescreenarebasedonthecharactersoftheAmericanpeople.Thesesuperheroeshaveonethingincommon,thatis,theyalsostartedlikeordinarypeopleandexperiencedmanysetbacksandshortcomings,buttheywereveryfairandovercamethemselvesandtheirenemies.2.2EvolutionPathof“Superhero”CharacterCharacteristicsintheProcessThetermcomicswasintroducedintoChinafromJapan.Americancartoonshavealonghistory,startingfromtheappearanceofSupermanBatmaninthe1930s.Americansuperherocomicsarenotjustcartoonsforyoungpeople.Thecomicindustryhascreatedmanyimagesuperherostories,interpretedvarioussuperheroes,andbecomethemainsourceofmoviesuperheroes.Thesuperherofilmbasedoncomicstorieshasdevelopedformorethan30yearsandhasbecomeanewAmericantypeoffilm.MostofthesefilmsareproducedandsoldintheformofhighconceptfilmsandhavebecomeanewglobalculturalproductintheUnitedStates.TheimagesandstoriesofSuperman,BatmanandSpider-Manarealsoknowntoaudiencesindifferentculturalfields.Theseheroesareaimedatyoungpeoplefromthebeginningtonoage.ThepreviousAmericanfilmsmainlyportrayedtherelativelyperfect,invincibleheroimagetonowslowlychangedintoafleshandbloodheroimagewithsevenemotionsandsixdesires.Intoday’sAmericanheromovieespeciallyindiffusefilm,forexample,superheroisnolongeraperfectending,nowtheaudienceseeisasuperheroisregretbutunforgettableending,leavetheherotoreturn,sohisluxuriantexit,becauseofhistears,toshapetheimageismeaningless.Sonowtheheroimagecreatedbythefilmproductionteamisregrettablebutalsounforgettable.TheAmericanpeopleneedmorespiritualandemotionalconsolation.ThetraditionalheroesdonotmeettheneedsoftheAmericanpsychology.Theyyearnforasaviorheroandanidealisticredemption.Atthattime,thegoldenageofAmericancartoonsbegan,markingthebirthofthefirstbatchof“superhero”.Therefore,theevolutionofthecharactercharacteristicsofthe“superhero”hasgraduallyemergedintheprocessofchange,frommakingpeoplesmiletomotivatingthepublic,bringingthehighestfaithtothepublic.ChapterThreeMulti-AngleShapingof“Superhero”CharactersinMarvelFilmsThestudyof“superhero”charactershasbeenpopularinrecenttimes.Theshapingof“superhero”charactersisnotovernight,thisshapingshouldbecombinedwithmultipleanglest nmentmovementandthebourgeoisrevolution.Inthelong-termprocessofdevelopment,theUnitedStateshascontinuouslyabsorbeddifferentsocialvalues,formingaliberalismwithinclusivenessasthecoreundertheAmericanvalues.3.2.1SteveRogers--“FreeValues”InthemovieCaptainAmerica,RogerswalkedintotheShieldbuildingandsaidontheradio:“Thepriceoffreedomishigh,andithasalwaysbeenit.Iamwillingtopayforit.”CaptainRogersgaveawonderfulspeech,butleftwithanotherquestion:Doyoubelieveinthevaluesoffreedom?ThisfreedomoriginatedfromthemoralideasoftheAmericanPuritans.Throughthismassspeech,Rogershighlightedhisdesireforandattachedimportanceto“freevalues”.Thoughtsarenotdeterminedbyexternalmaterialconditionsbutcanbeselectedaccordingtointernalbeliefs.Thoughtistrulyfree,andactionisfree.ThePuritanmoralitygaveCaptainRogersprofoundspiritualsupportandstrongwill.Hebelievesinfreedom.Forhim,freedomisawayofbeliefandthinking.Therefore,heisnotafraidofHyde’spowerfulorganization.Whathesaidcanreallymovepeople’sheartsandminds,andisverypowerful,thuschangingtheinterioroftheShengdunOffice.Therefore,CaptainRogerswasabletoleadNatashaandFalcon,especiallyinHold’sofficebuilding,tomakeaspeechatgreatrisk.Buthesucceededingainingtherecognitionandsupportofthearmy.Whyisfreedomsoimportant?Whentalkingaboutfreedom,theBritishphilosopherBerlinsaid,“Ihopemyrepeatedlifeanddecisionsdependonmyself,notanyexternalconstraints.”CaptainRogersreliesontheAmericanPuritanspirit,isnotafraidofexternalpressure,believesinthevalueoffreedom,understandstheimportanceoffreedom,firmlydefendsfreedom,andfinallydefeatsHeidelberg.Adheretofreedom,donotlosesecurity,andpeoplestillhavedignity.ThisisSteveRogers’“valuesoffreedom”.3.2.2PeterParker--“IndividualisticValues”Thevalueofindividualismdoesnotcausefatigue,humanbeingsthemselvestendtoworshipthestrong,itcanbesaidthatthehumanpursuitofbeautymaybetiring,buthumanbeingswillneverstopthelongingforthestrong.LikePeter’sdecisioninthefilm,whichhighlightshis“individualisticvalues”hemakeshisdesperatedecisiontouseEdisenergy,suchasusingEdithwillhurtpeoplearoundhim.Althoughheisaloneagainstthecrowd,attheendofthefilm,hemanagestosavetheworld,andyouarestillproudofhisgrowth.Heroesbecomeheroesbecausetheyhavethecouragetofailindespair.Ifapersondoesnotdaretostandupatalowtide,buttouseexternalforcestodeceivehimself.Then,heisnotahero.Peter’s“individualisticvalues”ledhimtoholdhismind.ItwasalsoPeter’sjourneyofgrowthinthefirststage.3.3ShapingofPsychodynamicsinMarvelMoviesPsychologicaldynamicsisalsoknownaspsychodynamicsorpsychoanalysis.Accordingtothepsychodynamicpointofview,behaviorisdrivenormotivatedbypowerfulinternalforces.3.3.1TonyStark--the“Id”and“Superego”IdeasFreuddividedpersonalityintoid,egoandsuperego,andrepressionisthebasicfactorof“freepersonality”.Tonyisnotthemostpowerfulhero,butthemainreasonwhyheisstilllovedbymanyisthatheisasflawedasothers.Thisshortcomingmakesyoufeelthatheroesaremorerealandgrounded.Tony’s“id”thoughtlaidthefoundationfortheaudiencetolovehim.Heisanordinaryman,notasuperiorgod.Thesecondcharacteristicisthatheismorehumanandhasnosuperability,whichisthemostdifferentfromotherheroes.CaptainAmericaandSpidermanhavesuperhumanabilities,andThorisevenmoredivine.Tonyhashishumanside.ThecaptainoftheUnitedStatessaidthathewasselfishanddonotmakethesacrificehedeserved.Hedoesnotmakeasacrificeforhiscomrades.Buthehasdonewhatwedarenotdobutwanttodoverymuch-becomestrongthroughhiseffortsandwisdomandbecomeaheroforall.Tonyhasadesireforfamilyinhisheart.Hiswifeandchildren,hislifeisontherighttrack.Hedoesn’twanttobreakthisbalance.Hewantstoliveanordinarylife.Afterall,heisfleshandblood.Thehero’sresponsibilitycomestoosuddenly.Hecan’tforgetthesoldierswhodiedbecauseoftheweaponshesold,andthelittleboyswhodiedbecauseofhim.Hehashisownfamily,hisowncareer,andhedoesn’tthinkhehasanygreatabilityandgreatresponsibility.Tonyevenwantedtoescapeforatime,buttheconstantsenseofjusticeinhisheartremindedTonythatheshouldweararmortosavethebrokenworldatthattime.TonyiswillingtosacrificebecauseTonyhasabrightmindandaheartthatisneverafraidtosacrifice.Sacrificeyourselftosavetheworld.Tony’sheartisawe-inspiring.Thisalsogavehimalotofresponsibilitiesandunlimitedpower.RedemptionoftheworldRedemptionofyourselfeventhoughthismethodmaybetoendyourself.BecauseforTony,peoplewhohaveawarmheartcannotescape.ThisisTonyStark’s“superego”thought,withthethoughtandresponsibilityofanall-conquering“superhero”.Itistheideaandresponsibilityofaninvulnerable“superhero”.3.3.2Hulk-FreudianRepressedThoughtInFreud’spsychoanalysis,sometimestheideaofhumanimpulsecannotbecomeconsciousness,becausethereissomeforceagainstit,otherwisetheycanbecomeconsciousness,andthestatebeforetheybecomeconsciousnessturnsintodepression,whichindicatesaprocess.Theessenceofrepressionisnottocanceloreliminatefromtheresultofideas,buttopreventtheirformationinconsciousnessandcutofftheconnectionbetweenideasandconsciousnessinideas,sorepressionissometimesdesirable.Depressionisthebasicfactorof“freepersonality”.However,onceapersonallowshimselftobe“free”,itwillbeanuncontrollablescene.Bothself-controlandfreedomar
