Course Orientation TPR (Grade A-B) OXFORD ENGLISH (Grade1-6) NEW CONCEPT ENGLISH (Grade1-4) TOEFL / IELTS / SAT JUNIOR NEW CONCEPT ENGLISH (Grade1-3) Target Group 教授对象 Suitable for the kids from 4 to 6 years old. Most of the kids havent learned any English before. 适合于4-6岁儿童。大部分儿童是没有英语 基础的。 TPR English TPR Teaching Goals 教授目标 vTPR-A Goals 教授目标 The kids could master all the 26 letters and some simple everyday expressions. 学完后,可学会26个字母的书写和一些日常用语 。 vTPR-B Goals 教授目标 The kids could master more than 100 words and some simple everyday expressions. 学完后,掌握100多个单词和一些日常用语。 TPR Introduction 课程概述 v1. TPR consists of two books, TPR-A and TPR-B. v TPR共分为A,B两册。 v2. Every book has 11 units, each of which has 2 lessons. v 每册书有11个单元,每个单元有2课,共22课。 v3. Each class lasts 2 hours with 10 minutes break, covering one lesson. v 每次课为2个小时(中间休息10分钟),每次讲授1课。 v4. Every foreign teacher will be assisted by a teaching assistance (TA). 每位外教配备一名助教。协助外教的工作。 v2. The teacher is supposed to spend the first 1020 minutes every class to review the contents of last class and the last 10 minutes to review and summarize the contents. 教师要在每次课的前十至二十分钟复习上节课内容,然后 开始新课,最后十分钟归纳总结此次课的内容。 3. The teacher is supposed to check students homework during the break or during the class. 在课间或上课的时候,要批改上次课布置的作业。 v4. At the end of each class, the teacher (assisted by TA) will hand out students homework. 在课程的最后,要给学生发放作业(通常由助教完成)。 About the class 有关上课 Some Teaching Tips 教课的几点建议 1. Every unit, consisting of two lessons, covers one topic. The second lesson is mainly about exercises to consolidate and extend the preceding lesson. 每单元包括两课,围绕一个主题展开,第二课是 对第一课的巩固和拓展。 2. Covering 6 pages, every lesson has the same structure, so the teaching steps of the first lesson of every unit is almost the same. While the second lesson of every unit is used to consolidate the preceding lesson. 每课都有六页,每个单元的第一课的教学步骤相 同,而第二课都是练习课,用来巩固上节课所学 的内容。 3. The teacher is supposed to teach the students by making use of body languages, pictures and so on, encourage the students to speak and correct their pronunciations. 教师充分利用肢体语言、图片和实物等让学生明 白掌握所学知识,多鼓励学生开口说,并及时纠 正其发音。 4. The contents of each book are on the first page. As the transition from low level course to high level course, 3A begins to contain grammars as well as more sentence patterns. v从3A开始,语法渐入学生的视线,同时,句型增多。 v2. Spend 1015 minutes to review the contents of last class, including vocabularies, grammars and sentence patterns. v每节课开始的1015分钟复习上节课的主要内容,包括 单词、语法和基本句型。 v3. When teach a new lesson, the teacher should provide students as many opportunities as possible to make students practice oral English and grammars, and point out their mistakes. Throw the ball in the circle v 5A/5B/6A/6B 5A Structure 5A, 5B, 6A and 6B textbooks have the almost same structure, with 3 to 5 modules, each of which has 3 or 4 units. The contents of each book are on the first page. As students comprehensive ability is enhanced, the teacher should consider correcting students pronunciation as one of the main teaching goals by explaining pronunciation rules from level 5A. v从5A开始,纠正发音正式提上教学日程,因为此阶段的 学生理解能力增强,教师可以通过讲解发音规则从根本 上纠正学生的发音。 v2. Review is very important. The teacher is supposed to emphasize special difficulties in the review. v复习很重要。在复习过程中,要重点强调学生易犯错的 知识点重点。 v3. When teach a new lesson, the teacher should interact with students as much as possible. v教学过程要尽量生动,教师与学生积极互动。 v4. There are increasing numbers of grammars, such as comparative degree, the superlative degree, imperative sentence, indefinite pronouns, present continuous tense, future simple tense, present perfect tense, the regular past tense, infinitives. So its important to explain grammars by giving some rules about grammars. v语法明显增多,像比较级、最高级、祈使句、不定代词 、现在进行时、 一般将来时、现在完成时、一般过去时 、动词不定式等等,因此语法的讲解尤为重要,最好能 总结出一般性的东西。 v5. There are more passages in 6A and 6B, which could be translated by students to increase their comprehension. v6A/6B中的语段增多,可试着让学生翻译,增强学生对 课文的理解。 v6. There will be cloze test in 6A/6B, which is the summary of lesson. Most of the kids have learned some English before. 适合于8至14岁的学生。大部分有一定的英语 基础。 Junior New Concept English Introduction 课程概述 v1. Junior New Concept English consists of three levels, with each level has two books, A and B. v 青少版新概念英语共分为3级,每级分A、B两册书。 v2. Each class lasts 2 hours with 10 minutes break. v 每次课为2个小时,中间休息10分钟。 v3. Finishing all lessons followed with a test and a test review. v在所有课文学习完后,会有1次考试和一次考试讲解。 v4. Junior New Concept English is only taught by local teachers at present v青少版新概念目前只有中教班 Junior New Concept English Textbook v1.Each level has two books ,A and B. Every book has 15 units, each of which has 2 lessons. The first lesson includes text and guided conversation; The second lesson includes pronunciation, pattern practice, written exercises, listening and so on. v每级分为A、B两册书,每册由15个单元组成,每个单元有两课:第一 课包括课文、对话练习等;第二课包括语音、句型练习、书面练习、 听力练习等。 v2. Each volume (A or B) a total of 17 weeks (about 4 months), 34 hours. Each level (8.5 months) a total of 34 weeks ,68 hours. Six volumes of the Junior New Concept English, teachers will teach all the grammar junior secondary. Frequency adverbs / 频率副词 Unit 3 (Lesson 73-108) Teaching Contents:教学内容 1. Adverbs / 副词 2. Negative interrogative sentence/ 否定疑问句 3. Present perfect tense /现在完成时 4. General future tense - will to train the students systematically to write English. That is , to train the students in all four skills: understanding, speaking, reading, and writing - in that order. 总目标: 为听/说练习提供合适的材料,并可系统地训练学生的写作能 力,也就是全面训练学生的4项技能:理解、口语、阅读、写 作按此顺序训练。 Book 2 Introduction Book 2 Unit 1- Review Book 1 第一单元:复习第一册内容 Unit 2- Compound sentence, complex sentence, non- predicate forms like gerund, to-infinitive, V-ing/V-ed 第二单元:学习并列句、复合句、动词的非谓语形式如动名 词、动词不定式、分词 Unit 3- Learn non-predicate forms further, exchange between clauses and non-predicate forms 第三单元:进一步学习非谓语动词,非谓语动词与从句间的 转换 Unit 4- Summarize Book 2, review all sentence patterns of the previous three chapters 第四单元:总结第二册,复习前三章的所有句型 Book 2 Course Schedule -Local Teacher Book 2 Unit 1- Lesson 1-24 Test unit 1 - 2 hours Unit 2- Lesson 25-48 Test unit 2 - 2 hours Unit 3- Lesson 49-72 Test unit 3 - 2 hours Unit 4- Lesson 73-96 Test book 2 - 2 hours The teacher is supposed to cover one or two lessons in an hour according to the average English level of students. 教师根据学生的英语水平每小时讲一至两课。 Book 2 Course Schedule -Foreign Teacher Book 2 Unit 1- Lesson 1-24 Unit 2- Lesson 25-48 Unit 3- Lesson 49-72 Unit 4- Lesson 73-96 1. The foreign teacher is supposed to cover one lesson in two hours. So the number of the total class is 96, and the all teaching hour is 192. 外籍教师每两小时讲一课,共上96次课,总课时为192。 2. There is no test. 没有考试。 3. Train the students speaking ability so that students could express their ideas fluently. 训练学生的口语能力使其能够流利地表达个人观点。 4. Please keep in mind that the teacher is supposed to explain new vocabularies and lessons to students! 请注意的是,老师讲课的内容必须涵盖单词和课文! New Concept English 3 General Goal: The course sets out to do two things: to provide material which will be suitable for aural and oral practice; to train the students systematically to write English. That is , to train the students in all four skills: understanding, speaking, reading, and writing - in that order. 总目标: 为听/说练习提供合适的材料,并可系统地训练学生的写作能 力,也就是全面训练学生的4项技能:理解、口语、阅读、写 作按此顺序训练。 Book 3 Introduction Book 3 Unit 1- Consolidate grammars and vocabularies of Book 2 and study these further; students could express their own opinions fluently by applying various vocabularies and sentence patterns. 第一单元:巩固第二册的语法与词汇,并在此基础上
