城市与艺术武汉，一座正在蓬勃建设的城市。武汉市民的生活正在被一项项工程计划改变着。生活离不开钢筋水泥，也离不开美，所以它们的平衡即在于城市与艺术的结合。说到工程与艺术的结合，武汉美术馆可谓是一例与艺术成功结合的建筑工程作品，自1930年始建的“金城银行大楼”到1957年武汉少年儿童图书馆在此设立，再至2008年底，武汉美术馆新馆落成，艺术让这座拥有八十年历史的老建筑焕发出新的生命。城市中建筑如“点”，交通如“线”，社会生活步伐加快后，联系“点”与“点”之间的“线”变得越来越重要，因为它决定了我们的移动范围。在“首届武汉设计双年展”中，我们将看到作为“线”的大桥、高铁、隧道等社会文化景观的演进，它们为武汉市民打造出宜居的工业重镇，彰显出了武汉百年建设成就。工程图纸在美术馆以美术作品的身份与大家见面，以详细、通俗的图解促进观者与工程设计作品之间的视觉艺术对话，使大家从设计角度理解艺术，从艺术角度认识设计，充分表明武汉在社会发展与变迁中，建筑、工程设施与社会人文环境的关系。此外，在展览期间，主办方还搭建起一系列供公众参与的平台，如在武汉美术馆内举办二十余场论坛讲座，为业界设计者、设计专业学生以及普通市民提供交流平台，使得大家都有机会参与设计与艺术、设计与社会、设计与生活的讨论，进而扩展到对设计艺术自身发展的思索。本次展览得到了各方全力支持，如此规模也必将吸引大批设计界的优秀人才来馆参观、交流，这样的探讨有助于我馆深化对城市设计领域的学术研究，为集便利、高效、美观为一体的城市工程设计提供新思路，用可持续的创意设计让我们的城市永远保持活力。武汉美术馆馆长 樊枫2011年10月30日 Art & the CityWuhan is a vigorous building city, and the lives of Wuhan citizens are being changed by a project one and after another. Life is inseparable from reinforced concrete, but also inseparable from beauty, so their balance is at the combination of art and the city. When it comes to the combination of engineering and art, Wuhan Art Museum may be called a case of architectural engineering works with art successful combination. The founded Jincheng Bank Building since 1930 to Wuhan childrens Library set up here in 1957, then to the end of 2008, the completion of the New Wuhan Art Museum, and art makes this old architecture with a history of eighty years regain a new life. In the city, buildings are like dots, traffics being like lines, and after social life accelerates its pace, the lines connecting between dot and dot are becoming more and more important, because it decides our moving range. In the First Wuhan Design Biennale, we will see social cultural landscape evolution as the lines of the bridges, high-speed rails, and tunnels, etc. to manifest Wuhan construction achievement for hundred years, and create livable industrial city for Wuhan citizens. Engineering drawings in the Art Museum as the identity of art works meet with everyone, and they are in the detailed and understandable illustrations to promote visual art dialogues between the audience and engineering design works, which makes everyone understand art from angle of design and recognize design from angle of art to fully demonstrate, in Wuhan social development and changes, the relationship between architectural, engineering facilities and social humanity environment. In addition, during the exhibition period, the organizers also build a series of platforms for participation of the audience, for example, in the Wuhan Art Museum holding more than 20 forum lectures, and providing exchange platforms for industry designers, students majoring in design and the ordinary citizens, which makes everyone have the opportunity to participate in discussion of design and art, design and society, and design and life and further extended to the development consideration for design and art itself.
