ADT: All rights reserved PART 24 Power limit o Mobile/portable stations are limited to 2 watts EIRP peak power and the equipment must employ means to limit the power to the minimum necessary for successful communications. ADT: All rights reserved PART 24 Frequency stability oThe frequency stability shall be sufficient to ensure that the fundamental emission stays within the authorized frequency block . ADT: All rights reserved PART 24 Spurious emissions at antenna terminals oOut of band emissions. The power of any emission outside of the authorized operating frequency ranges must be attenuated below the transmitting power (P) by a factor of at least 43 + 10 log(P) dB. oThe emission bandwidth is defined as the width of the signal between two points, one below the carrier center frequency and one above the carrier center frequency, outside of which all emissions are attenuated at least 26 dB below the transmitter power. ADT: All rights reserved Measurement : EIRP oEIRP Effective (equivalent) Isotropic Radiated Power EIRP is the power feeding an isotropic antenna (with 0dBi Gain) located at where the EUT was and can produce the same radiation effect with that of the EUT on the receiving antenna oERP Effective Radiated Power ERP=EIRP - 2.1484dB ADT: All rights reserved Measurement : Occupied bandwidth oOccupied bandwidth : The emission bandwidth is defined as the width of the signal between two points, one below the carrier center frequency and one above the carrier center frequency, outside of which all emissions are attenuated at least 26 dB below the transmitter power. ADT: All rights reserved Measurement : Out of band emissions oOut of band emissions: ( Conducted & Radiated emissions) The power of any emission outside of the authorized operating frequency ranges must be attenuated below the transmitting power (P) by a factor of at least 43 + 10 log(P) dB. e.g. Tx power 1W = 30dBm 30dBm (43+10log(1) )= -13dBm Tx power 0.5W = 27dBm 27dBm (43+10log(0.5) = 27dBm (43 +(-3) = -13dBm 1GHz Radiated Emission Limit -13dBm = 82.22dBuV/m ADT: All rights reserved Measurement : BAND EDGE Publication Number: 764661 Question: For licensed devices, is it acceptable to use a reduced video filter technique to simulate average measurements rather than using an average detector? For example, the spectrum analyzer is set to to 100 kHz RBW with the VBW set to 100 Hz This technique is done in order to smooth out the spectral signature. Answer : No, it is not acceptable to simulate average measurements with a reduced video filter (VBW). Always use, the appropriate detector (average, peak, normal ,sample, quasi-peak) when making measurements for licensed devices. ADT: All rights reserved Measurement : Frequency stability oFrequency stability : The frequency stability shall be sufficient to ensure that the fundamental emission stays within the authorized frequency block. ( limit 2.5ppm - Canada RSS 132 ) Remark: 2.1055 (a) The frequency stability shall be measured with variation of ambient temperature as follows: (1) From 30 to +50 centigrade for all equipment (b) Frequency measurements shall be made at the extremes of the specified temperature range and at intervals of not more than 10 centigrade through the range. (d) The frequency stability shall be measured with variation of primary supply voltage as follows: (1) Vary primary supply
