Headline of the newspaper江西省新余市第四中学 梁蔚 e-mail : szhliangwei2 Tel:13979026848 说明:教学设计与教学总结与反思的组合 一、内容提纲Part I. 教学分析Part II教学设计 1.说明2.教学过程板块图3.教学过程Part III 教学总结和反思ParIV 附页二内容Part I. 教学分析教学内容 学习如何理解新闻标题,如何为文章定标题教学对象江西省新余四中 高一(8)班 学生人数52人教学方法任务教学法,学生中心教学法,多媒体辅助教学法教学活动组织形式个体活动,两人活动,小组活动,班级活动教学目标知识目标了解新闻内容与标题的关系,了解世界大事,关心社会发展。 能力目标培养阅读能力,训练阅读技巧, 情感目标激发和培养学生关心国家及社会意识教学重点阅读能力的培养和阅读技巧的训练,该节课主要教会学生快速捕捉和理解标题 教学难点培养学生使用精确语言提炼文章中心,把握文章主题。 Part II 教学设计说明本堂课是一节高一英语阅读课,针对教材特点和教学要求,补充报刊网络新闻,重点培养学生的阅读过程中的提炼文章中心,把握文章主题。由于课堂需要,教学过程中主要具有以下特点:一、有效将报刊网络引进课堂教学,拓宽学生文化视野英语课程标准在教学建议中提出:“要开发英语教学资源,拓宽学生学习渠道”。“内容丰富、形式多样的英语活动”。本堂课选取了双语报、二十一世纪、美国的一些与教学对象水平基本吻合的内容在课堂上应用。报刊网络的运用丰富了教学内容,提高了学生的学习兴趣和课堂教学效率,充分体现了现代信息技术对教学的辅助作用。二、以学生为课堂活动的中心和主体 ,注重课堂延伸课堂教学活动中充分激发学生的学习积极性和创造性,培养学生自主学习的能力。如:教学面向全体学生,既利于各种层次的学生参与和发展,又能通过合作交流,发展同性,保持个性。 如;小组活动中每个学生所阅读的文章是不一样的,以形成信息沟,阅读后小组交换各自信息。这样确保每个学生都有各自的交谈内容和话题。三、为了方便小组活动,在座位安排略作调整。如下图: GA GB GC GD 讲 台注:GA: Group A GB:Group B GC: Group C GD: Group D课堂活动既包含两人活动,又有四人小组活动,这样就具有一定的灵活性,方便课堂活动的进行。 Part III 教学过程板块图如下所示:Game: Hangman Different news for each pairFind the matched headlineExchange information theyve gotCheck with the teacher What to add? Teacher analyses a headline with the whole classStudents know the main characters of headlines Write progressively longer headlines for the news Cross check answers between groups Teacher shows the original headlines accompanied their articles Surf the Internet: watch news Comment, conclusion and homeworkPart IV 教学过程: Step 1 leading-in ( 2 minutes)Play “hangman” to discover the wordnews First, on the board, draw a short line for each letter in the word “news” _ _ _ _ And the hangman: Teacher: A word contains four letters. Lets guess what the word is? And Ill give you some help. But there are only four chances for you . If you cant get the word, you ll be “hanged”.Then ,after making sure the students know what they should do, give them the first clues Teacher: It can mean “information”If students cant get the word, the teacher will draw one part of the well-known hangman diagram. Continue play until the students have guessed the word ,or have used up all their guesses and are hanged. Some other clues: Its about a recent event or events We get it everyday. It often appears in newspapers or TV【设计说明】导入部分为欧美国家极为有名的猜词游戏“hangman”,1) 首先通过游戏激发学生们对新课题的兴趣,并且有利于调动课堂气氛。2) 通过教师对新闻的描述,学生们可以了解新闻的特征,为下一步的学习打下基础。 Step 2 pre-reading activity ( 3) Ask the students to tell the class the latest national or international news they know 【设计说明】 通过让学生介绍自己所了解的国际及国内新闻,教师可了解学生对于文章、新闻的中心概括能力;并训练口头表达能力 Step 3 fast reading ( 4 )Each pair of students get copies of different news (without headlines). Work in pairs.1) read their news2) exchange their information got from their news 【设计说明】在该步骤中,每一对学生将得到两篇不同的新闻copy,这样形成有效信息差或信息沟,再通过与同伴交流来获取不同的信息,这样既可训练学生抓取文章中心的能力,为完成下一任务做好准备,又可延伸课堂的深度和广度,使每一位学生都能有成就感。(该步骤选用了四篇新闻,见附页)Step 4 match headline( 2 ) Give some headlines on the board, and let the students find matched headline for their article.A. Olympic medals for Beijing Games have Chinese style 【设计说明】该环节旨在帮助学生将所读文章的中心与标题联系起来,从而体会文章中心与标题的关系。Step 5 Analyse a headline ( 6) First, choose one headline from the above eg. Dell to sell cheap PCs in china.Starbucks forms record labelThen, ask: What to add? Articles, pronouns , auxiliary verb? Or other?Explain : Dell to sell cheap PCs in china.The Dell is to sell cheap PCs in chinaStarbucks forms record labelThe Starbucks formed the record label【设计说明】首先让学生们在小组内进行分析,将标题补充完整,然后在老师引导下,将标题准确补充完整。为下一环节积累感性知识 。Step 6 Introduce the main characters of a headline (12)First, ask: 1.What is a headline? 2. Can you find the main characters of a headline? Then, students work together to find the answers.I. 自身独有的时态特点; 一般现在时通常被用来表示过去发生的事;动词的将来时更多地直接采用动词不定式来表达;现在分词直接表示正在进行的动作或事件。.II. 虚词的省略连词通常省略: 联系动词、助动词、 冠词基本省略。Finally, more examples: THREE G0RGES FLOODED BY FAREWELL TOURISTSTHE THREE GORGES FLOODED BY FAREWELL TOURISTS惜别之情难以挡游客蜂拥至三峡US,VIETNAM RESUME TALKSUS AND VIETNAM RESUME TALKS美越恢复会谈INDIA MENDING FENCESINDIA IS MENDING FENCES印度正在改善与邻国的关系THREE DEAD AFTER INHALING OVEN GASTHREE ARE DEAD AFTER INHALING OVEN GAS吸入炉灶煤气三人窒息身亡 【设计说明】该环节为本堂课的重点和难点,通过以上各环节的学习及上一步骤的分析,首先由学生为headline下定义,再由老师进行归纳:a line of words printed in large letters as the title of a story in a newspaper, or the main points of t e news that are broadcast on television or radio.标题是新闻内容的集中和概括,它用简练的文字浓缩了新闻中最主要或最值得注意的内容。接着小组讨论新闻标题所具有的特点,讨论后,老师收集各组的观点,然后与学生们共同归纳出标题的特点,再给更多的标题让学生理解。 Step 7 Activity: Write progressively longer headlines (该活动需用3-4篇新闻)(6) First, group students and give each group one of the articles, making sure that several groups have copies of the same article in order to cross check their answers later Second, each group read their article ,discuss its contents,and then write one (or more )suitable one-word headline(s) at the top of the page. Third, then write write one (or more )suitable two-word headline(s) Fourth, then headlines with three words ,and then four words, and so on until they have written the longest possible headlines they can to company their article. Fifth, put the group with the same article together, and ask them to compare their work. Sixth, teacher look for identical headlines they have written and comment on the appropriacy of any different ones.Seventh, show the students the original headline which accompanied their articles. 【设计说明】在课前,老师应做以下准备工作:首先选四篇(所选材料见附页)内容趣味性强能引起学生兴趣的新闻,剪去标题,将文章粘贴在一张纸的底部,对于文中出现的一些词汇给出必要的解释,复印足够的copies给小组的每一位学生,全班共分12个groups,每三个组将得到同一篇文章。在活动中,小组内首先阅读讨论该文的主题,然后在纸的顶部写出一个(或多个)只包含一个词的标题,接着再其下写出两个词的标题,然后是三个词,四个.直到他们写出尽可能长的标题。该步完成后有相同文章的小组进行比较,选出最有特点的标题,最后老师出示原始的标题。在该活动中,每一位同学都能参与进来,发表各自的看法,调动了每一位同学的积极性。 此部分作为本节课的一个拓展和升华,体现素质教育中培养学生创新思维的思想。Step 8 Surf the internet ( 5 ) First, Enter the website: Then, Watch live news【设计说明】首先通过教室里的网络系统,登录该网站 ,点击首页的“watch video”,进入新闻观看。观看后,学生各自发表对该新闻的看法。该部分通过观看新闻及阅读新闻标题,培养学生的实际应用英语的能力 。Step 9 Homework(1) Surf the internet and find some news you are most interested in. And compare the headlines if they are about the same event. Teacher can provide some foreign websites.1. /(路透社)2. / (美联社)3. /uk.index_uk.asp(国际奥委会)4. 【设计说明】 进一步深化课堂内容,培养积极探索的好习惯,让学生们学会利用现代技术手段进行自我学习。Part V 教学总结和反思1.该堂课利用了报纸与网络的资源进行整合教学,丰富了课堂内容,有效地提高了学生的阅读能力(该堂课主要是培养学生抓文章主题的能力)与实际运用英语的能力,但在网络使用时可能会碰上连接不上的情况,因此为了保证课堂教学的顺利进行,可预先下载一些英语新闻以备用。新课标指出教学要有利于学生学会运用多种媒体和信息资源,拓宽学习渠道,使学生形成具有个性的学习方法和风格,但目前我国英语资源较匮乏,而且大部分的内容都难度过大,要找到适当的资源比较困难。这是目前进行课题最大的难点之一。2. 本堂课主要采用小组活动、小组合作的方式进行,体现了课标中要求的基础性学习、扩展性学习、提高性学习、个性化学习和自主性学习特点,通过积极主动的、参与式和合作式的英语学习方式和观察、体验、探究等积极主动的学习方法,发挥自己的学习潜能,提高自主学习的能力。.但因大部分的教学都是以小组活动进行的,小组长的作用非常大,直接关系到活动的质量,因此要选好小组长,同时在活动过程中教师要起好组织和指导作用。3.通过本堂课的学习,帮助学生了解了新闻标题的特点及作用,对于帮助初上高中的中学生了解社会、国际时事有极大的帮助作用,激发和培养了学生关心社会、参与社会的意识 ,并有利于培养社会责任感,促进学生人文素养的提高4.本节课围绕一个主题,展开了多层次、多角度的课堂活动,益于学生理解和掌握,但活动较多,要注意把握好活动时间,确保各项活动顺利完成。 5.应注意所选用的新闻(文章)应该尽可能引发学生的兴趣,在难度上也要注意把握。在必要的情况下,可根据学生水平调整其中的用词。同时因不可避免地涉及到一些新词,教师应注意引导学生在阅读中理解词义,养成良好的阅读习惯,培养学生综合运用语言的能力。 Part VI 附页 Step3 所选用的材料Passage A Have a multimedia map of your own on Google mapGood news for all creative people. Besides providing on line maps, Google now gives you a chance to make a personalized(个性化的)map of your own. The new Google “ my maps “ tab (标签) can be found on the Google Maps page. The tab makes it much easier to put together maps and digital(电子的)content, such as photos and videos. After you have logged onto Google Maps , the first step is to click on “My Maps Creat new map”. From there, you can add titles and descriptions(描述).You can also decide whether to keep the map private or make it public. Next , you can select place marks, lines and shapes to develop the map. To make the maps interesting, you can also add photos and video. “Once a map has been created, users can make it available (可利用的) to anyone by making it public,” says Google. Passage B Players with a million songs AMERICAN digital company SanDisk has added a new function to its latest MP3 player,the Sansa Connect. The player, sold at a price of less than $250, gives owners the ability to get Yahoo Music storage(存储量) of more than 2 million songs. Sansa C onnect has only a 4-gigabyte flash drive(4G容量的闪存). But the player has a Wi-Fi connection (无线网络连接),which keeps picking new songs from Yahoo Music and Internet radio stations. When it is connected to a computer through a USB cable, the player works in the traditional way-it sets up playists and copies music from your CDs. Sansa Connect is also a viewer that can show photos. It does not play videos, but it does have a feature most other players dont have: a speaker to let others listen.sto be sold Passage CStarbucks forms record label AMERICAN Starbucks Corp said last week it has formed its own record label, Hear music . It will develop music records to be sold bith in the chains (连锁店) coffee shops and through traditional music stores. Hear music began as a chain of music stores that allow customers to burn music CDs(刻成光盘) and listen to CDs in the store before buying them. Starbucks bought Hear Music in 1999 and has develop a growing music business around the brand. In addition to selling CDs in its coffee shops , Starbucks also has a Hear Music radio station. Passage DDell to sell cheap PCs in China DELL Inc, the worlds second largest personal computer maker , is selling a new low-cost PC in China. The desktop computer costs between 2,599 and 3,999 yuan. The PC targets(目标定在) first-time buyer in China. It comes as Dell struggles to grab a market share from local Chinese computer maker Lenovo Group Ltd. Chief Executive Michael Dell said the company would be interested in selling similar models in other markets, such as India and Brazil. On March 25 1957, the EU was created as the European Economic Community (EBC,欧洲经济共同体) under the Treaty of Rome (罗马条约) which was signed by six countries. Built n the ruins of World War II, the EU was established to create strong economic ties among countries to prevent another war. After years of effort, it has grown into a 27- nation union with almost 500 million people. They have created a single market , and a single currency (货币), the Euro, has been introduced in many states. The EU, together with the US, is one of the two largest economies in the world. It began a strategic partnership(战略伙伴关系) with China in 2003 and is Chinas biggest paryner.Passage B Yung speaks out HONG Kong pop star Joey Yung (容祖儿) was invited to speak for an anti-hepatitis campaign (抗肝炎活动)named Hepatitis Free Generation last Monday.” I hope more and more people can become aware (意识到) of the importance of vaccination (疫苗),”said Yung.
