To enable the students to improve from their present level, I divided the whole unit as follows:1. Warming-up and listening; excite the interest and input information of the topic2. Speaking; enable the students to express likes or dislikes as well as talk about architecture3. Reading; input more about architecture4. Language study and grammar5. Integrating skills; input even more about the topic6. Writing; output the topic This lesson is the second period of this unit, in which how to express ones preference for architectures is the key point .At the same time, I design the tasks to consolidate how to support ones ideas ( on one hand one the other hand ,which have been learned last unit) in a logical way.StudentsThe students come from Art Class, which is a newly-built class this term, and have various family background( children of mountainous villagers, farmers on plain areas, and families in Yanqing town.) Different life experiences make them a great diversity of learning. Therefore, group work, especially a bigger group is a better choice for them.Besides, our school is not a key school ,and all of them have some difficulty in studying certain subject. They need more encouragement.Before this lesson(the warming-up and listening period)The students have developed a strong desire of this topic as well as input some vocabularies and phrases about architecture. Pointing one of the pictures on the wall,the teacher asks one student “do you like it?”2. Then repeat “likes the picture,prefers the picture.”The student would answer “Yes,I like it”Listen carefully and guess the meaning of “prefer”While-classStep2 key points and practiceTo make them learn and master the key structure1 Using “likes the picture,prefers the picture.” Makes certain sentences according to the reflect from the students.2.Write down on black board3. Show pictures and make sentences using prefer and preference and guide the students to read together4. Encourage the students to translate sentences5. Guide the students to recall what they have learned to express likes or dislikes6. Give more example and tell the students that they should use some facts or reasons to support their ideas7. Guide the students to read the sample sentences together8.
