Unit 2 There were few doctors,so he had to work very hard on his ownStep 1Warm up为了让学生尽快进入学习本模块的状态,教师在课前播放歌曲:Hero Step 2Present (Activity 1)让学生讨论:Who is your hero? (出示邓亚萍图片)Who is the person? Why is she famous? 学生两人一组活动,补充和交流信息。Step 3Listen (Activity 2)在开展听力活动之前,教师可先引导学生学会通过who, where, what等引导的问题预测听力内容。Ask students to read the questions and choose the correct answers. Play the recording a second time if necessary.Step 4Listen and read (Activities 3, 4, 5) 本活动有两个目的:一是培养学生听录音获取细节信息的能力;二是在对话中呈现原因、结果状语从句等语言知识。学生在初次听录音时填写信息表是有一定困难的,所以要增设听力训练(详见素材四)。Activity 3: Before students read the passage, ask them to tell you three facts that they know about Deng Yaping.Write their ideas on the blackboard.Ask students to close their books. Play the recording and check their three facts. Tell the students to cover the passage and complete the table from memory.Activity 4: Ask students to work in pairs to find the answers to the questions.Activity 5: Tell students to look at the words in the box and tell you which can change form (attend, clever)Ask students to complete the passage with the correct form of the words.Check answers in pairs. Step 5Pronounce and speak (Activity 6)本活动语音训练的重点是训练学生在朗读复合句时根据句子意思做适当的停顿。具体操作:教师播放录音,学生根据录音,标记句子中停顿的位置。(Play the recording for students to listen to and mark the pauses.)再次播放录音,全班跟读。(Play the recording again for students to listen to and repeat.)Step 6Work in pairs (Activity 7)本活动要求学生运用所学的状语从句谈论心目中的英雄。学生两人一组,进行问答练习。教师可提供更多的对话示范。如:What do you want to be? Why?I want to be a scientist because I like science.Who is your hero?Qian Xuesen. He is called the “Father of Chinese Rocketry”教师让部分学生向全班同学汇报同伴心目中的英雄,全班投票,选出大家最为敬仰的英雄。Step 7Language points (详解见学案部分)1. abroad adv. 在国外;到国外2. will n. 意志;决心3.
