审定人：一、课程简介（一）课程教学目的与任务专业英语课程是机械与动力类专业的专业必修课程。该课程为机械与动力类学生经过了基础英语以及大部分专业课的教学之后，为进一步提高他们的阅读和翻译有关专业书刊的能力而开设的。通过课程教学，让学生基本掌握各种机械零件、机床、切削工具、常规加工和特种加工方面的常用专业英语词汇和短语，培养学生具备快速阅读简单的一些专业英语文献的阅读能力，具备借助词典能阅读较难的一些专业英语文献的能力。通过课程教学，应着重培养学生能够善于将英语与本专业知识有机地结合起来，能够阅读与本专业有关的英文文献，了解最新动态，拓宽专业知识面。（二）课程教学的总体要求通过学习本课程应达到以下基本要求：1、 重点掌握专业文献的翻译方法和技巧、专业文献的写作；2、 掌握专业英语的语言特点；3、了解机械专业英语的相关知识。（三）课程的基本内容本课程基本内容涉及专业英语的特点；专业英语的翻译；专业英语写作、机械工程专业英语相关术语和文献等内容。（四）先修课程及后续课程先修课程：大学英语、机械设计、机械制造技术等课程。本课程综合性强。既可以加深学生对先修专业课程的理解，又可以提高英语水平。二、课程教学总体安排（一）学时分配建议表 学时分配建议表课 程 内 课程论文。成绩构成：平时成绩占20%，课程论文成绩占80。成绩按优秀、良好、中等、及格、不及格记。三、课程的教学内容和教学要求（一）专业英语的语言特点（3学时）1、教学目的通过讲授，使学生了解专业英语的特点和常用的词缀和词根，讲课方法等2、教学重点与难点教学重点：了解专业英语常用的词缀和词根。教学难点：专业英语的语法特点；专业英语的句式结构特点。3、教学方法课程教学采用计算机多媒体投影、板书、作业练习、自学相结合的形式。4、教学主要内容（1）本课程的主要讲解内容和学习方法；（2）专业英语的词汇特点，专业英语的语法特点，专业英语的句式结构特点；（3）专业英语常用的词缀和词根。5、教学要求：了解：专业英语的词汇特点、语法特点和句式结构特点，对专业英语的严谨、简洁、紧凑的语体风格作初步的了解。通过讲述专业英语严谨、简洁、紧凑的语体风格的特点，培养学生养成严谨的工作作风，认真、仔细的工作态度。6、学生练习翻译长句难句：1016个。（二） 专业英语的翻译概论（3学时）1、教学目的通过具体的文章翻译，使学生了解专业文献的翻译方法和专业术语的翻译。2、教学重点与难点教学重点：使学生能借助字典翻译本专业文献资料，要求理解正确，译文通顺。教学难点：专业英语的词汇特点、语法特点和句式结构特点。3、教学方法课程教学采用计算机多媒体投影、板书、作业练习、自学相结合的形式。4、教学主要内容（1）专业文献翻译概论，英汉两种语言的对比，专业英语翻译的标准，专业英语翻译的过程；（2）专业文献翻译的基本方法与技巧；（3）专业术语的翻译，专业英语翻译的几个问题。5、教学要求：了解：专业英语翻译的标准、过程、基本方法。专业英语翻译实际上是在忠实原文的基础上进行创新，学习本章有利于培养学生创新思维。6、学生练习翻译长句难句：1016个。（三）专业英语的写作（3学时）1、教学目的通过讲授，使学生了解和掌握常用科技英语的写作句型和特点，英文摘要的写作特点和掌握英文摘要的写法。2、教学重点与难点教学重点：掌握常用的科技英语写作句型，英文摘要的写法。教学难点：无3、教学方法课程教学采用计算机多媒体投影、板书、作业练习、自学相结合的形式。4、教学主要内容（1）专业英语论文的组成部分，专业英语论文标题的写作，科技文献常用的语法；（2）科技英语写作句型按结构划分；（3）科技英语写作句型按功能划分；（4）英文摘要的写作特点和类型；（5）英文摘要的写作常用结构和句型；（6）中英文科技论文的写作。5、教学要求：了解：中英文科技论文的特点，掌握中英文科技论文写作技巧。通过讲述科技论文严谨、简洁的特点，培养学生养成严谨的工作作风，认真、仔细的工作态度。6、学生练习汉译英：13篇文献摘要。（四）Basic
