Leading in Listening2a This activity gives students practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation.T:last time we learned the use of Could you please ? and Could I ?Can you tell me their differences?S:T:OK, Did you finish your homework? S:yes.T:then can you report your conversations to us? Please pay attention to their differences.Then ask some to report,give help or suggestions if necessary.T:today we are going to learn a conversation between Sandy and Sandys mother.Lets see what they are talking about? What does Sandy ask Sandys mother to do?Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.Play the recording a second time. As they listen to the recording this time, ask students to fill in what each of them is going to do. pause the recording or play it more than once if students need extra time to write down the words.Point out the sample answer.Step 3. Pairwork2c This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language. Read the instructions. Tell students they will be working with a partner. Point out the sample conversation. Ask two students to read it to the class. Then point to the phrases in the box. Say, Use these phrases to make a conversation. First one student has the party and asks for help. Then the partners change roles to ask and answer. Say, Now work with your partner. Ask each other for help with your partners. Have students work in pairs. As they talk, move around the room checking their work. After a few minutes, ask several different pairs of students to report to the class.Correct any incorrect questions or answers.Step 4 reading practiceT:OK,we know that we should help others when they need.but what should we do when we need others help ? After some time ,check their answers,give the sample answers.while doing this,explain and teach some new or main phrases or expressions,such as,feed,take .for a walk,thanks for doing sth,etc.Read the message together,remind them to pay attention to the way to write a message to ask for help.Step 5 writing practiceSay,in 2a and 2b,we know Sandy is going to have a party.she wants Dave to help her with her party.and he wrote a message to ask Dave for help.what should he write to ask for help,lets read the beginning of the e-mail message. Then finish the message. Ask a student to read the beginning of the e-mail message. Then ask them to finish the message. They can get ideas about things to write from activities1 and 2 on Page 76.While they do it,go around to help them finish it,offer help if they need.
