The topic of this unit is ordering food in restaurants. In this class, students will learn some new words about food and learn to ask and answer questions about ordering food. The target language “What kind of noodles would you like” is always answered with “Id like beef noodles”.2、The Structure of the Teaching Material In the first period, students will be asked to listen to an English song which is about food to attract their attention. All the activities in the second period are designed to learn the important words about food in a certain category. In the third period, students are provided with listening and reading using the target language “What kind of noodles would you like”. In the fourth period, students are asked to make conversations in groups of four according to the dialogue above. This is a reinforced practice using the target language. Its helpful for students to better understand what they have learned in this class and to improve their speaking skills. 3、Teaching Aims and Demands . Knowledge Objects To master the new words: would, large, medium, small, size, bowl, tea, etc To master the phrases: would like, hed, Id, wed, etc To master the sentences: What kind of noodles would you like? Id like potato noodles. What size bowl of noodles would you like? Id like a medium bowl. .
