阅读理解(2014西宁市二模)One night I was sitting in my room halflistening as my 15yearold brother fought with my 12yearold brother Kevin. I didnt pay attention when Kevin rushed up the stairs with the hurt on his face.About 20 minutes later, as I was walking upstairs I heard Kevin crying inside the bathroom. I knocked on the door and asked,“Hey Kevin, do you want to talk?”No response. I tried again,“Why dont you come out of there?”Again, no response. So, joking around, I grabbed a stack of index cards and a pencil and wrote, “If you dont want to talk, we can write notes to each other. ”An hour later I was still sitting on the floor outside the bathroom with two stacks of index cards in front of me. One was blank and one was cards from Kevin on which he had translated all his yucky feelings into words for me. As I read one of Kevins notes, tears came to my eyes. It said,“Nobody in this family cares about me. Im not the youngest, and Im not the oldest, and Im not talented. Tommy thinks Im stupid and Dad wishes he had the other Kevin as a kid because hes better at basketball. And youre never around to even notice me. ”Tears came to my eyes again as I wrote back to him. “You know Kevin, I really do love you and Im sorry I dont always show it. I am here for you and you are loved in this family.”There was no response for a while, but then I heard a tearing sound coming from inside the bathroom. Kevin, who had run out of index cards, wrote on a tornup paper cup,“Thanks.”I wrote back “For what?” It returned to me with “Loving me” written on it. Since then, I try my best never to halfnotice my family members anymore. Kevin and I have closer relationship now, and sometimes when one of us notices that the other is upset well smile and say,“Write it on a paper cup.” 1Why did Kevin stay inside the bathroom alone crying?ABecause he lost in the fight with Tommy.BBecause the author didnt play cards with him.CBecause he felt no love from the family members.DBecause he hurt himself when rushing up the stairs. 2The underlined word “yucky” (Paragraph 6) most probably means “_”AunpleasantBexcitingCdoubtful Dfrightening答案:A词义猜测题。根据文章第二段第一句“About 20 minutes later,as I was walking upstairs I heard Kevin crying inside the bathroom.”,并结合对第六段的整体理解可推知,Kevin一个人躲在厕所里哭是因为他认为家里没有人爱他,从而感到难过、不开心、以致哭泣,所以只有选项A与画线词意思相近,意为“令人不快的”。故选A项。3What could be the reason that Kevins Dad doesnt like him?AKevin likes fighting with others.BKevin is not good at playing basketball.CKevin doesnt want to talk to others.DKevin is not talented as his brother. 根据文章第六段倒数第二句“Tommy thinks Im stupid and Dad wishes he had the other Kevin as a kid because hes better at basketball.” 4What did the author learn from the incident?AIts hard to comfort young brothers at home.BIts dangerous to halfnotice someone in the family.CIts important for family members to show their love.DThe best way to communicate with family members is by writing. 根据文章第七段第二、三句“You know Kevin, I really do love you and Im sorry I dont always show it. I am here for you and you are loved in this family.”并结合最后一段第三句“Since then,I try my best never to halfnotice my family members anymore.” .完形填空(2014北京市海淀区下学期期中)The Little AngelSally jumped up the moment she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. Here are some examples of rudeness. Some people prefer to do almost everything over the Internet. To them, dealing with an actual human is like an evolutionary step backward. It feels very slow because humans dont work at 4G speeds. When you have dinner with friends, you will often notice someone paying more attention to his mobile phone. We have programmed ourselves to think that every new message brings lifechanging news, so taking calls and checking our texts are more important than talking to the people we are with. What is worse, some people even tend to send anonymous(匿名) rude messages by email. However, rudeness is never acceptable. Dont assume it is OK to be rude if the person youre in touch with wont recognize you. If you have something awful to say, have the courage to face the person and say it, write a letter or email and sign it, or forget it. Upsetting people with unsigned messages is cruel and disgusting. We shouldnt blame technology for our shortcomings. Technology is here to help us, but we should not allow it to take over our lives. An important step is acknowledging our shortcomings. People spend a lot of time pointing out bad manners but it would be even more helpful if wed publicly acknowledge good manners when we see them.70The author thinks sending unsigned awful messages is _.AridiculousBdisgustingCacceptable Dreasonable答案:Bridiculous荒谬的,可笑的;disgusting令人厌恶的;acceptable可接受的;reasonable合理的。 典例2(2013陕西).My son could not follow the teachers directions, he told me, and thus, Scola was disru
