Pictures Cards 25-32,Teaching Procedure:Step1: Warming up: sing a song.Review the words. Step2:Bring in pictures to show the four seasons.Write: There are four seasons in a year.(Show the pictures of four seasons). ReviewHave Ss look at the page.Step3:T: Lets listen to the tape and read the story.Have Ss follow the dialog by pointing to the sentences in their books.T: Look at the first picture. What season is this? (Ss: its spring). Ask about other picturesPlay the tape and pausing after each sentence to have Ss repeat.Put Ss in groups of three and give them the roles of Jenny, Tony, Gogo.Have groups practice acting out the dialog. (Exchange the words)Step4:Have Ss look at the symbols at the top of the page and review the words, then look at the pictures for A.Write “Its _and _.” on the board.T: (point to the first picture.) can you make a sentence? Ss: Its windy and rainy. Continue with the other pictures.Play the tape for A, and the others. T: whats the weather like in summer? (Ss: Its hot and sunny.) find the picture for “hot and sunny”, put a checkmark in the box. (Repeat the procedure with the other three questions.)Step5: After learning the sentence “whats the weather like in -?” point to the window, ask: whats the weather like today? Ss: Its _ and _. T: Do you like (season)? Ss: Yes, I do. (No, I dont)T: Whats your favorite season? Ss: _Step6: Pair works: have Ss look at the questions on the page, and write down the answers. Walk around the classroom and provide help if needed, and check the answers with the whole class.Put Ss into pairs and have them ask and answer.Step7: Put picture cards on the board. Under the first card, write Its spring. Have them make sentences about each card.Use a map of China to show the cities.T: (S1s name), read question1 to the class.
