摘要 为了满足全球化的需要，我国自从1 9 9 9 年以来扩大了各高校的招生以普及 国民的高等教育。由此，大学英语教学的班级人数也越来越多。而对学生交际能 力和使用英语的能力的培养的强调使得人们发现以教师为中心的传统的教学模 式在大班英语教学中已不适用，产生了各种各样的问题：学生学习更为被动，反 馈信息难以及时传递，口语实践机会趋于减少。英语教师面对这些挑战，很值得 进行用以学生为中心的合作学习取代以教师为中心的传统英语教学的尝试。 通过对相关的学习理论和二语习得理论以及一些主要的关于合作学习的研 究项目的回顾，本研究试图发现合作学习对学生英语水平，特别是对他们英语口 语能力的影响，以及学生在英语学习中对该方法所持的态度。 为了在大班英语教学中检验此方法的有效性，作者设计了一个合作学习活动 的实验研究项目，通过在实验组解释合作学习这一概念将学生分组，分配角色， 制定小组活动规范，建立评价标准，观察、分析学生行为等步骤开展实验。在实 验中，作者在学生致力于实现共同的群体目标的过程中，强调了异质分组，小组 互动，积极互赖，个人责任，小组社交技巧的发展以及群体经历等因素。 本实验涉及两个大班，分为实验班和控制班。在实验班实行合作学习而在控 制班按照传统的教学方法进行全班授课。经过在实验班进行为期1 7 周的合作学
