山东大学硕j 学位论立 i 摘要 ( _ 十世纪七十年代，隐喻在世界范围内成为一个热门话题。自从九十年代 以来，隐喻成为认知语言学的重点研究课题之一。在过去的几十年中，哲学家、 心理学家、语言学家开始承认隐喻是语言和思维不可缺少的基虬k 一， 本文旨在论述既然隐喻在人类的语言和思维中起到如此重要的作用，那么 一， 隐喻就可能为外语教学提供一个全新的角度去探讨在教学中所遇的问题，从而 找到相应的办法。本文从以下四方面论证此观点： ，“、 第一，从认知学的角度看来，隐喻不仅是一个语言现象而且是人类认 知的工具。人类大部分的思维过程都是隐喻性的。在此，要区 分开隐喻表达法和概念隐喻。前者是指用在日常交际中的带有 比喻性的言语，它是后者的实际的语言表达法。后者是指人类 认知世界的方式，是抽象的概念，是前者的基础，不会出现在 日常的交际对话中。研究隐喻，其结果将是对人类思维模式的 分析。 第二，在外语教学中重视语言学习者隐喻能力的培养。隐喻能力，作 为概念流利性的一部分，意味着了解目的语是怎样在隐喻结构 的基础上构建概念的。如果隐喻在同常语言中如此的普遍，那 么语言学习者在语言学习的不同阶段必然会碰到这种修辞性 的语篇，而掌握它，特别是概念隐喻，一定是学习过程的一部 分。对于学习者来说，要掌握隐喻能力的有效方法之一就是提 高对隐喻的重视。外语学习者特别要注重作为修辞性语言基础 的概念隐喻。和语法能力与交际能力一样，隐喻能力也是能教 的。莱可夫和约翰逊( 1 9 8 0 ) 的著作中指出概念隐喻是有系统 性的。学习隐喻系统的过程是可以与学习语法和交际过程一致 的。忽视隐喻就等于忽视本族语者认知世界的概念系统，掌握 目的语的隐喻系统才是真j f 掌握该语言。 第二三，在上述的理论框架的基础上，进行了一个个案研究。其目的在 于研究语言学习者使用隐喻的数量和他们的学习成绩之f n j 的 关系。研究对象是一个非英语专业班级的4 5 名大学二年级学 生，他们需要在5 0 分钟内写一篇四百字的文章。实验者把文 中隐喻性的词组或句子挑出并统计，然后与他们的四级考试成 绩加以比较，通过使用统计软件计算出相关系数。结果证明学 习者使用的隐喻数量与他们的学习成绩之间存在正相关。学习 成绩高的学习者在文章中使用的隐喻相对较多。另一个值得注 意的现象是学习者使用的隐喻数量在整个篇章中所占比例较 少，从中可以得知学习者并没有掌握英语的概念系统，这可能 就是他们的文章显得不地道不自然的原因。 第四，在本文的最后设计了一个课堂教学计划。这个教案旨在给教学 t 作者一些启示：如何在课堂上进行英语教学的同时培养学习 者的隐喻能力。
