weregoingtodowhateverittakestoworkwiththefrenchpeopleandwithnationsaroundtheworldtobringtheseterroriststojustice,andtogoafteranyterroristworksthatgoafterourpeople. wedontyetknowallthedetailsofwhathashappened.wehavebeenincontactwithfrenchofficialstomunicateourdeepestcondolencestothefamiliesofthosewhohavebeenkilled,toofferourprayersandthoughtstothosewhohavebeenwounded.wehaveofferedourfullsupporttothem.thesituationisstillunfolding.ivechosennottocallpresidenthollandeatthistime,becausemyexpectationisthathesverybusyatthemoment.iactually,bycoincidence,wastalkingtohimearliertodayinpreparationfortheg20meeting.butiamconfidentthatillbeindirectmunicationswithhiminthenextfewdays,andwellbecoordinatinginanywaysthattheythinkarehelpfulintheinvestigationofwhatshappened. indecember,ourbusinessescreated240,000newjobs.theunemploymentratefellto5.6%.thatmeansthatXXwasthestrongestyearforjobgrowthsincethe1990s.inXX,unemploymentfellfasterthanithasinthreedecades. overa58-monthstreak,ourbusinesseshavecreated11.2millionnewjobs.afteradecadeofdecline,americanmanufacturingisinitsbeststretchofjobgrowthsincethe?90s.americaisnowtheworld?snumberoneproducerofoilandgas,helpingtosavedriversaboutabuck-tenagallonatthepumpoverthistimelastyear.thankstotheaffordablecareact,about10millionamericanshavegainedhealthinsuranceinthepastyearalone.wehavecutourdeficitsbyabouttwo-thirds.andafter13longyears,ourwarinafghanistanhasetoaresponsibleend,andmoreofourbravetroopshaveehome. andhereswhythisisimportant.therearewomenheretodaywhoworkedinofficeswhereitwasagainsttherulesforemployeestodiscusssalarieswithoneanother.andbecauseofthat,theydidntknowtheywerebeingpaidlessthanmen-justlikelillydidntknow-fordoingtheexactsamework.forsome,itwasyearsbeforetheyfoundout.andeventhen,itonlyhappenedbecauseamanageraidentallyletitslipor,asinlillyscase,asympathetio-workerquietlypassedanote.sheonlyfoundoutsheearnedlessthanhermalecolleaguesfordoingthesameworkbecausesomebodyleftananonymousnote. andsofar,republicansincongresshavebeengumminguptheworks.theyvebeenblockingprogressonthisissue,andofcourseotherissuesthatwouldhelpwiththeeconomicrecoveryandhelpusgrowfaster.butwedonthavetoaeptthat.america,youdonthavetositstill.youcanmakesurethatyoureputtingsomepressureonmembersofcongressaboutthisissue.andidontcarewhetheryoureademocratorarepublican.ifyoureavoter-ifyouvegotadaughter,yougotasister,yougotamom-iknowyougotamom-(laughter)-thisissomethingyoushouldcareabout.
