解释新知识的信息，旨在为学习者的已知知识与欲知知识之间架设一 座桥梁，以帮助学习者更易于接受新知识。在教学中利用先行组织者 来组织教学的手段或措施就是先行组织者策略。国内关于先行组织者 策略的研究主要集中于验证这些策略在中小学各科教学中的有效性， 关于先行组织者策略在大学英语教学应用方面的研究则较少。 本文以图式理论、迁移理论、互动理论和输入输出理论为理论指 导，研究先行组织者策略在当前我国大学英语课堂教学中的实际应用 情况，包括教师和学生对使用这些策略的理解、反应和体会。本研究 主要采用定性和定量研究相结合的研究方法，全部研究对象均来自长 沙市四所不同水平的大学。研究者首先随机抽取2 0 0 名学生及4 0 名教师 作为研究对象进行问卷调查，然后从参加过问卷调查的教师中随机抽 取2 0 名教师进行课堂观察，最后再抽取l8 名教师和3 6 名学生进行访谈。 研究结果表明：1 ) 教师和学生都认识到了先行组织者策略的重要 性，但仍有- - 4 , 部分老师在课堂上没有使用先行组织者策略。2 ) 教师 和学生在先行组织者策略的喜好上不完全一致。教师在课堂上最常用 的方式是与新的教学主题相关的讨论活动，而学生更喜欢教师使用更 加形象化的教学组织方式和更真实的教学材料。3 ) 先行组织者策略在 大学英语教学中的功效与先前其他研究结果一致。在以往研究论证的 先行组织者策略的四个功能的基础上，本研究还发现并论证了先行组 织者策略的第五个功能，即可以降低课堂焦虑感，增加课堂趣味性， 使课堂更有生机。4 ) 教师和学生在关于先行组织者策略使用的最佳持 续时间上观点基本趋于一致，他们都认为5 1 0 分钟是最佳持续时间。 但是教师在使用先行组织者策略中的行为与学生期待不一致。
