摘要 两千多年来，隐喻的研究一直受到语言学者的关注。传统上，隐喻更多地被 认为是一种用来装饰语言的修辞表达。 随着认知语言学的兴起，隐喻的作用开始获得重新的认识。而且在新兴起的 认知语言学中，隐喻占据着中心的地位。隐喻以及它的结构、运作机制、功能、 认知特点已经成为语言学、人类学、哲学、心理学、教育学等众多学科的热门话 题。其中隐喻的认知功能研究异军突起，受到普遍认可。认知论者认为，隐喻不 仅是一种语言修辞，而且是一种思维模式，是人们用来借助具体事物认知抽象事 物的一种有效认知工具。隐喻与人类思维和认知及人类文化有着密切的关系。空 间隐喻也就是借助空间关系认知抽象概念，因而人类与空间的密切关系使得空间 隐喻在人类的认知发展史中具有重要影响。本论文从认知语言学的视角对英汉两 种语言中的空间隐喻进行了对比研究，并对英汉隐喻所体现的文化共性和个性进 行探讨研究。 第一、二章简要介绍了隐喻概念和论文的研究方法以及英汉隐喻研究的历史 背景。 第三章介绍了对比分析的理论基础。该章主要从隐喻的普遍性，隐喻、认知 与语言的关系。 第四章介绍英汉隐喻表现出来的文化差异。首先谈到隐喻、语言和文化，而 后是英汉隐喻的跨文化比较，其中涉及到英汉文化之间的共性和个性。 第五章从认知的角度看英汉空间隐喻。首先阐述隐喻与空间隐喻的关系，而 后对英汉空间隐喻进行对比。
