也吸引了大量的读者，但是我们在如何更加精确地去解读这部小说需要我们运用 不同的理论，从不同的角度进行研究。本文通过运用概念隐喻理论的基本思路分 析或解读这部小说时发现简爱是一部由无数概念隐喻构成的小说，起支配 地位的有三个概念隐喻：生活是旅程，上帝是自然和生活是故事。 i i 作者生活在1 9 世纪前半期，我们意识到她受到浪漫主义和超验主义的影响。 我们需要指出的是超验主义思想本身是1 9 世纪美国浪漫主义文学的一个主要思 潮，是美国早期文学的一种思潮，代表人物有霍桑，爱默生等。浪漫主义作家对 夏洛特勃朗蒂影响甚大，她的写作也带有浪漫主义作品的特点。简爱这 部小说中的超验主义思想是得到许多文学批评家认可的。超验主义思想这个命题 范围很大，在这篇短小的论文中不可能完全穷尽，我们试图想表达的是夏洛特勘 朗蒂在刻画简对宗教信仰的一种解读的时候，她受到超验主义思想的影响尤深， 然界的物体来展示上帝的存在，感悟上帝。由于篇幅所限，我们只能分析一些具 有代表性的概念隐喻来阐明他们与圣经有关。最后，也是最重要的，在分析完上 帝的启示以及与圣经有关的概念隐喻的基础上，我们把焦点放在追踪小说中的宗 教寓意并且探究发生在故事里那些偶然事件的含意，从而推导出以下结论： 简爱小说本身就是一个概念隐喻即，生活是朝圣者历程。女主人公经历了 一个朝圣者的历程：折磨，痛苦，非正义，最后在上帝的指引下战胜了一切。正 是从这个意义上我们认为这篇小说都是一位世俗女性视角下的圣经。 本文只是作出了一些尝试性的研究，也意识到文章的不足之处，例如本文的研 究只是例举了几个例子并没有对概念隐喻进行完整的研究，而且只局限于 简爱这篇小说，对于作者的其它作品及其姐妹的作品关注很少。同时，对
