桂林理工大学硕士学位论文 中文摘要 语言是跨文化交际的主要手段，文化是交际的重要背景。在跨文化交际和外语学 习中，文化之间的差异一直是造成交际失败和语用失误的主要因素。因此，提高外语 学习者对文化差异的认知度，可以使他们避免在跨文化交际中潜在的冒犯和误解，从 而最终提高跨文化交际能力。 对言语行为的研究一直是语用学，尤其是跨文化语用学的研究焦点。正如该论文 题目所示，该研究旨在对中国人和美国人问卷调查的基础之上，通过对比手段，用文化 因素来描述和解释中美请求策略的相同性和差异性，特别是差异性。之所以选择请求 行为，主要是因为它广泛应用于日常生活的各种情境中，请求别人帮你修电脑，问路等 等。 该研究通过语篇补全( d c t ) 及面对面谈话等实证方法，对一百多人就请求言语 行为进行了问卷调查。研究表明，中美双方在实施请求言语行为时存在很大差异：1 ) 相对美国人而言，中国人对自己熟悉的人发出请求时，更多的采用直接请求；2 ) 美国 人受社会因素影响较小，倾向于采用规约性间接请求；3 ) 中国人采用非规约性间接 请求即暗示的频率则明显高于美国人。 以言语行为理论，礼貌原则，跨文化交际理论为理论框架，本文从宗教、价值体 系、思维模式及受文化背景影响程度等方面对中美请求言语行为策略使用的种种差 异进行了深层次的探讨和分析，发现文化因素对请求言语行为的影响主要有以下几 个方面：第一，中国受封建礼教与儒家思想的影响，差序等级观念浓重，体现在请求言 语中则是称呼的多样性，而美国受基督教的影响，认为人人平等，所以在请求过程中 的称呼比较固定。第二，中国人的集体主义价值观，导致他们在对与自己关系密切的 亲友实施请求言语行为时选择直接请求的频率明显高于受个人主义价值观影响的美 国人。第三，相对美国而言，中国人和美国人在思维模式上的显著差异导致了中国人 在请求策略的序列上的差异性；第四，中国人受文化背景影响较大，而美国则受文化 背景影响较小，导致中国使用非规约性间接请求策略的频率也高于美国。 本文最后得出结论：在实施请求言语行为时，人们应该相互了解对方的文化，尊 重对方的文化及其差异，克服双方的文化冲突，达到成功实施请求言语行为的目的。 最后，作者针对双方在请求言语行为中所表现出来的差异，为中国人如何在跨文化交 际中成功并有效地实施请求言语行为，如何增强中国英语学习者的文化感知力，如何 教授和学习英语提供参考和建议。 关键词：请求；言语行为；差异：文化 桂林理王大学硕士学位论文 a b s t r a c t l a n g u a g ei st h em a i nt o o lf o rc r o s s -
