j j 东大学硕士学位论文 摘要 人们通常认为词汇是语言构成的三大要素( 语音、词汇和语法) 之一，是语言的 建筑材料，是语音和语法的承载体。没有词汇作为基础，语言的所有功能只能是一句 空谈。但目前由于种种原因，在中国英语教学中，学生的词汇学习效率仍然很低，这 对包括初中在内的中国英语词汇教学产生了消极影响致使词汇教学成了中国英语教 学中的一大困难。虽然在近几年中出现了对英语词汇的大量研究，但是却没有多少涉 及到如何提高学习英语词汇的效率，至于对初中生词汇学习方面的研究更是寥寥无 几。针对这种现象，本文提出了英语词汇教学中的联想途径；并从联想主义心理学、 心理学和语义三角理论等角度探讨了该词汇学习策略的理论基础；通过一项在山东 省汶上县南站镇第一初级中学做的教学实验证明了联想途径的科学性和可行性。该实 验旨在调查联想途径对初中生英语词汇水平、英语水平和英语词汇学习内在动机的影 响。 本研究中的数据来自于山东省汶上县南站镇第一初级中学的1 0 0 名学生。结果与 发现如下：联想途径和学生的英语词汇水平、英语水平、英语学习内在动机间存在显 著相关。他们之间是显著的正相关。基于这些结果和发现，本文提出了一些通过联想 途径有效提高英语词汇教学水平的有益建议。 本文包括六章。作为引言部分，第一章介绍了英语词汇的重要性和几个显著特 点，陈述了研究问题、研究的目的和方法，阐明了本研究的意义。第二章是文献综述。 先是介绍了记忆与联想的定义、记忆与联想的关系，接着探讨了联想途径的理论基础 和该途径在二语习得方面的先前研究及在学习英语词汇方面现存的应用范例，最后作 者简要地对本章进行了概括。第三章是研究方法部分。该部分在描述了研究问题、研 究对象和研究工具后，详述了具体实验过程。接下来的是关于如何收集数据的描述。 并且，作者利用s p s s 系统绘制了一些能显示出联想途径与初中生英语词汇水平、英 语水平及内在英语词汇学习动机之间关系的表格。第四章是结果与讨论部分。在简要 的总结完研究结果后，作者根据联想主义心理学、心理学和语义三角的理论对表格所 反映出的关系的原因进行了探讨，即对此实验的主要发现提供了一个理论上的解释。
