摘要 二十一世纪需要高素质、高层次的人才。随着国际间交流的日益频繁，语言的作用将 更为重要。英语在过去的几十年里变成了世界各国间交流所应用的最为广泛的交流工具。 在我国，英语是大学生的必修课，英语的重要地位和应用前景也决定了高校、教师和学生 对它的重视程度。但经过两年的英语学习之后，学生的语言能力在实际的应用中表现得并 不理想，其中最主要的原因是没有解决好课程设置四年不断线的问题。因为高校英语教学 的成功与否主要取决于是否有一个合理的大学英语课程设置。研究表明到目前为止，我国 大学英语高年级阶段课程设置的研究还处在起步阶段，因此有必要探讨这一阶段合理的课 程设置，并寻求一条真正符合我国国情的、有效的大学英语后续教学模式。英语课程设置 即任何英语学习项目的计划、具体实施以及评估方案，本研究正是从多层面、多角度入手 探讨当前我国大学英语后续教学课程设置。 不同的学者从不同的角度对课程设置有不同的阐释。但从总体上来说，课程设置包含 的内容都是大同小异的。本文整合了不同学者的观点，力求为大学英语后续阶段的教学提 供一个可靠的理论依据。 本文在课程设置具体理论的指导下，在实践调查的基础上探讨现阶段我国大学英语后 续教学课程设置的现状以及存在的问题，并提出了具有一定可行性和建设性的对策。本文 采取了定性分析( 半开放性的个人访谈) 和定量分析( 以调查问卷为主) 的方法，主要调 查了山东省某高校的大学英语课程设置状况。同时为了更全面地反映当前我国高校高年级 阶段课程设置现状，作者还借鉴了其他研究者对全国或某一省份有关此课题的调查结果。 本调查建立在把英语作为外语( e f l ) 的课程设置理论层面上，并进行了一系列的调 查研究，其内容包括：1 ) 大学英语后续教学的现状分析；2 ) 大学英语后续教学必要性分 析：3 ) 大学英语后续教学的可行性分析；4 ) 大学英语后续教学课程设置探讨性框架结构。 其中，第四方面是本研究的重点。大学英语后续教学即应用提高阶段的教学，它将为学生 后续阶段专业英语的学习提供扎实的语言基础；为学生高层次的英语交际能力和应用能力 创造条件：并相应地提高学生的文学鉴赏能力和文化素养功能。因此，本研究具有一定的 现实意义和实用价值，能为今后大学英语后续教学课程优化设置方面提供理论指导和现实
