(英语语言文学专业论文)高职高专英语教材实用性调查研究.pdf.pdf 免费下载

i 中 文 摘 要 近年来,随着我国高等教育的迅猛发展,高职高专院校在不断扩大教学规模 的同时,学生的整体素质和知识水平有所下降,对于英语来说,尤其如此。而随着 我国对外开放的不断深入及全球经济一体化进程的加速,现代社会对各种人才英语 能力的要求越来越高,英语作为一门国际通用语言越来越受到重视。因此,加强英 语教学改革的呼声越来越强。而在英语改革的诸多要素中,英语教材的改革起着至 关重要的作用,教材建设工作是整个高职高专教育教学工作中的重要组成部分。本 文通过查阅文献资料和问卷调查等方法,对教材的定义、英语教材的功能以及国内 外英语教材评析的相关理论和研究进行了综述。作者将理论与实践相结合,以高职 高专新视野英语教程为例,对山西省各高职高专院校对该教材的使用情况进行 了抽样调查。在问卷调查的基础上,笔者对该教材进行了分析研究,揭示了该教材 的优势以及存在的不足。指出在当前高职高专英语教材不太完善的情况下,教师应 该对手头现有的教学资料进行开发利用。最后,笔者结合教育部关于高职高专人才 培养目标和要求以及自己多年的教学经验,从高职高专学生的实际情况出发,对高 职高专院校英语教材的编写提出了自己的观点和看法,希望为高职高专英语教材的 编写提供一点帮助,进一步完善高职高专英语教材的编写,提高教材的质量。笔者 认为,各高职院校应该结合自己院校开设的不同专业,鼓励基础英语教师和专业英 语教师积极参与校本教材的编写,为不同院校不同专业的学生提供不同的教材,实 现公共英语和专业英语的有机结合,真正体现教材的“实用性”和职业教育的“职 业性” ,从根本上满足师生需求,培养学生综合运用语言的能力。 关键词:关键词: 高职高专;英语教材;使用状况;调查;分析 ii abstract in recent years, with the fast development of higher education in china, many vocational colleges are actively expanding the size of school, while students overall quality and level of knowledge are decreasing, especially in english. however, with the constant deepening of chinas opening to the outside world and the acceleration of global economic integration, the modern society has a higher demand for different kinds of peoples english proficiency. as an international language, english becomes more and more important. so, the voice for strengthening english teaching reform is growing. however, among many elements of english reform, the reform of english teaching materials plays a vital role and the construction of teaching materials is the important part of the whole higher vocational education. through referring to the literature, conducting questionnaire survey and so on, this paper gives an overview of the definition of teaching materials, the function of english teaching materials and the related theory about the evaluation of teaching materials at home and abroad. then, the author puts theory into practice, takes new horizon english course as an example and makes a sampling survey of the service condition in several vocational colleges of shanxi province. on the basis of questionnaire survey, the author makes an analysis and research on the teaching materials and reveals the advantages and disadvantages and points out that teachers should develop and make a full use of the available teaching materials at hand in such a situation that the current teaching materials are less than perfect. in the end, according to higher vocational training objectives and requirements pointed out by ministry of education and the authors teaching experience for years, the author starts from the actual situation of higher vocational english teaching and puts forward his own point of views in order to provide a little help for the compilation of vocational english teaching materials and further improve the compilation and quality of english teaching materials. the author thinks that basic english teachers and major english teachers in higher iii vocational colleges should band together and actively involve themselves in the compilation of school-based teaching materials and provide different teaching materials for students from different majors in different colleges to realize the combination between basic english and major english, truly reflect the “practicability” and “profession” of vocational education to meet the fundamental needs of students and teachers and train students comprehensive ability in language application. key words: higher vocational college; the key factors to improve the teaching efficiency and quality comprehensively and directly affect the quality and direction of personnel training. so, the construction of teaching materials is the important part of the whole higher vocational education. without teaching materials, teachers will feel difficult to organize the educational activities well; the student should master certain basic knowledge and skills in english and have certain abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation and have the ability to make a simple oral and written communication during the daily activities and business activities of the foreign-related communication; and higher vocational english teaching should lay a basis for further improving students english communicative competence in the future.” “the basic requirement” shows that higher vocational education should be employment-oriented, competency-based and student-centered to make an exploration of the practicability of teaching materials. in recent years, in order to meet english teaching reform in higher vocational colleges, a series of english teaching materials have been compiled and published in different areas, which provides a certain space for people to select. but as a whole, the teaching materials that truly have the feature of vocational education are still extremely scarce, and the construction of english teaching materials can not meet the development of higher vocational education. for the above, the author thinks it is necessary to have an analysis and research on the major english teaching materials used in higher vocational colleges, which can help us know the advantages and disadvantages about the current teaching materials. then the author will put forward his own opinions to search the most suitable english teaching materials for higher vocational education. 1.2 research content through referring to the literature, conducting questionnaire survey and so on, this paper gives an overview of the definition of teaching materials, the function of english 2 1993 年 7 月国家教委颁布了普通高等专科英语课程教学基本要求 ,简称旧基本要求 。2000 年 9 月教育 部高等教育司在此基础上又颁布了高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求 ,简称新基本要求 。 chapter 1 introduction 3 teaching materials and the related theory about the evaluation of teaching materials at home and abroad. taking new horizon english course for example, the author combines with his own teaching experience for years in higher vocational college and makes an analysis of the courses guiding principle, training objectives, structure and content to see if the teaching materials can meet the needs of students and teachers. in accordance with “the basic requirement of higher vocational english teaching” issued by state education commission in september, 2009 and the analysis and research on the results of questionnaire survey and interviews, the author points out the advantages and the existing problems in using the teaching materials and analyzes the causes of the problems. based on textual evaluation and researches on teaching materials, the author draws a conclusion to this teaching materials practicability and puts forward his opinions on how to use the teaching materials rationally and effectively in such a situation that higher vocational english teaching materials are less than perfect at present. finally the author makes several constructive opinions and suggestions on the compilation of higher vocational english teaching materials; encouraging teachers to compile school-based teaching materials according to the different majors. the author hopes that this paper can provide a little help for higher vocational english teaching and the compilation of english teaching materials to meet teachers and students needs and the requirements of times. 1.3 significance of the research firstly, according to the requirements of new english teaching theory: the teaching should meet students needs and students should be the center of classroom teaching; the teacher should enhance the training of listening and speaking skills and make students master the english language knowledge in a relaxing and natural environment by designing the “task-based” activities; improve students overall qualities and develop their self-learning ability (lv ye, 2006), the author puts theory into practice and makes an investigation and research on the service condition of the main english teaching materials used in higher vocational colleges. through the scientific analysis and evaluation of the practicability of the teaching materials, this paper provides us with corresponding theory and practical basis, which will be helpful to the compilation of english teaching materials in the future, especially the compilation in higher vocational colleges. the research on the practicability of higher vocational english teaching materials 4 secondly, this paper has a very important practical significance. through the questionnaire survey and research on the service condition of new horizon english course, this paper could reveal the current situation and existing problems of the teaching materials in higher vocational colleges of shanxi province to a certain extent, which can help the educators adopt scientific theory to analyze and evaluate the current teaching materials; to constantly study and explore the use of teaching materials in teaching practice and optimize higher vocational english teaching to reflect the “practicability” and “profession” of vocational education, improving students english proficiency and especially the ability to deal with the business related with their own majors in english and further promote the development of vocational education. new horizon english course received certain praise in higher vocational colleges, but it can not meet the fundamental needs of teachers and students and requires a further improvement and development. so, the scientific and comprehensive evaluation of the teaching materials is of a great practical significance. chapter 2 literature review 5 chapter 2 literature review now, one of the main tasks that higher vocational colleges faced with is to promote the reform of english teaching and improve teaching level and quality. it is important to know the current situation of english teaching in higher vocational college, the methods should be taken and the aspects from which the english teaching should be reformed. to solve these problems, many english teachers and scholars who are concerned about english teaching have made an analysis and research to a certain degree and carried out a lot of different opinions and suggestions on basic english teaching reform. now, lets have a review of the seniors researches on english teaching in higher vocational colleges. 2.1 the researches on the current situation and related measures about english teaching in higher vocational colleges higher vocational and technical education in our country started from 13 vocational colleges, which was approved by the former state education commission in 1980 and has had a 30-year development history. during this period, higher vocational colleges have a rapid development, but it also faces many challenges. quite a few scholars made a comprehensive and deep research and put forward many viewpoints and suggestions, which attained a certain achievements. the author of this article consulted a large number of papers and special reports on higher vocational english teaching and made a careful analysis and comparison. from the seniors research contents, we can divide it into two major parts: one is the analysis of current situation of english teaching in higher vocational colleges; the other is the related measures to improve english teaching, which can be summarized as follows: in the paper of a discussion about higher vocational english teaching(2007), zhanag lihui pointed out the following opinions: we should enhance students motivation to learn and make them self-confident; to increase students listening and speaking skills, especially in practical communication training, and take the training of practical oral communicative competence as an important teaching task; to strengthen reading and translation abilities; to strengthen the practical training in writing with regular exercises and focus on students expressive ability. zhang yingxue,in the paper of the the research on the practicability of higher vocational english teaching materials 6 main problem and countermeasures about higher vocational english teaching (2003), made an analysis of the existing problems from the following aspects: the guiding principle of english teaching; the arrangements of teaching plan; teaching staff; teaching content and methods; the application of modern teaching methods and so on. yu hongying, quan hong and liu wen, the analysis and research on current english teaching in higher vocational colleges (2005) pointed out the following existing problems about english teaching in higher vocational colleges: curriculum system is unscientific; teaching methods and means are backward; the construction of teaching materials is not complete and so on. they proposed to change the old teaching model to increase the construction of three-dimensional teaching materials and develop students self-learning ability. feng guixias the opinions about higher vocational english teaching (2005) mentioned that teachers should be student-centered and adopt the classified teaching method; training students autonomy in learning english. li runers the preliminary discussion about higher vocational english teaching (2007) pointed out that the most prominent problem in higher vocational english teaching is the phenomenon of “dumb english” and “time-consuming but inefficient”. in response to this problem, she presented the following ideas: to stimulate students interest in learning english and make them clear about their learning objectives; to set up the environment of language situation and help students learn english effectively; to promote students socio-cultural communicative competence. the existing problems and countermeasures about higher vocational english teaching (2007) by li xiaofang mentioned: students in higher vocational colleges have different english basis and poor self-learning ability; there are too many students in the same class; teachers still adopted traditional teaching methods, etc. with these problems, she put forward the following opinions: teachers can adopt classified teaching and level-to-level teaching in the same class;
