太原理工大学硕士研究生学位论文 法律英语的词汇特征 摘要 本篇论文尝试探索法律英语的文体特征，尤其是其词汇特征。在本篇论文中，法律 英语的特征被分为两种范畴：对法律英语文体特点总的分析及其词汇特征，每一种均 自成一章。另一章专论本篇论文之运用。加上导论和结论，全文共由下述五章缀成。 第一章简介法律，文体及法律英语。作者介绍了有关文体这一概念的种种不同定 义和解释。运糯了大量文字来描写法律辩语言的要求，因为对任何运用于特殊领域的语 言所做的分析，都应该从考察该语言运用的环境来开始。法律在本质上是一种工具，借 助它，某些特定的外部力量，即围家权威，在人类社会事务中强制摊行并维护某种秩序。 法律既然代表图家权利，它就应该是严肃，神圣_ 和强制性的、这些特点需要某种特殊语 言来加以体现。法律英语的本质及特点决定了法律语言必须是正式，精确及严谨的。 第二章论述法律英谱的句法特点。实际上，第二章是对法律英语独特的语法特征进 行总的分析。作者从句法的角度入手展开分析，涉及到法律英语中的陈述旬，完整旬， 被动语态，一般现在对，长旬及名物化等六个方蘧。 第三章是本文的主体部分即法律英语的词汇特点。作者从十个方面对法律英语的词 汇特点进行分析。其中有两节论述法律英语词汇的词源：来自吉英语和中吉英语的词汇， 来自拉丁语以及来自法语的词汇。有六节探讨法律英语在词汇和表达方式上的独特之 处： 专业术谮，普遥词汇在法律英语中瓣特殊翥义，大词长词，间义词及j 戆义词在法 律英语中的并列使用，模糊词语的谨慎使用，情态动词的特殊使用( 包括s h a l l ，m a y ) 及少用代词。鸯一节专门用于橇述法律英语其他熬浞蜒特征。作者透过这些论述，得如 这样的结论：
