摘要 本研究采用个案研究的方法探究中国2 1 名英语学习者的英语阅读过程，旨在深入了 解二语阅读的特性，揭示母语在二语习得中的作用。研究采用有声思维、回顾、问卷、访 谈等方法，记录了2 1 名中国大学生在两次英语阅读中的思维过程，对该过程中母语思维 进行定量和定性的分析，并就阅读任务、英语水平对母语思维的影响展开讨论。具体来说， 本研究回答了以下四个问题： 1 在中国学生的英语阅读过程中，母语是如何使用的? 2 在外语阅读过程中母语的具体作用有哪些? 3 外语i 弼读过程的双语特性是否与读者的外语水平和阅读任务的不同有关? 4 外语学习者对在外语学习中使用母语的态度是什么? 本文共有五部分。 第一章，引言。本部分提出了本文研究的问题。通过研究必要性的阐述体现了本文的 研究价值。本文的研究目的主要是探讨外语阅读的本质特征以及了解母语在外语学习中的 作用。 第二章，文献回顾。本部分列举了本文研究所依据的背景知识。首先，本部分选取了 阅读研究的三大重要理论作为本研究的理论基础。第- - 4 , 节回顾了关于一语对二语阅读过 程影响的研究。通过对以往采用有声思维研究方法的研究的回顾，可以看出二语阅读不是 一个单语的过程，二语读者可以借助一语，把一语作为一种策略来帮助他们理解二语材料。 尽管如此，除了心智翻译，一语在二语阅读中的作用还未被细致的研究过，并且关于一语 在二语阅读中的作用也是知之甚少。因此，本文就致力调查阅读者如何在外语阅读中使用 母语的过程，以及母语的使用效果问题。 第三章，研究方法。本部分描述了本研究是如何进行的以及材料是如何分析的。总起 来说，本部分详述了本研究的研究设计，其中分别介绍了研究问题、研究对象以及收集和 分析数据的步骤。本文的研究焦点是二语读者在二语阅读中如何使用一语以及一语使用对 二语阅读过程的作用。本实验研究的对象是曲阜师范大学的2 1 名英语学习者。她们总共 参与了两个英语阅读任务。阅读过程的材料主要通过以下三种研究方法收集的：有声思维、 观察和访谈。数据分析主要基于有声思维的材料，学生的问卷以及访谈记录。本研究通过 语水平对母语使用的影响，以及读者对母语使用的念度。首先，结果显示出外语阅读过程 具有双语特性，并且母语在外语阅读中起着重要作用。其次，本研究还总结出母语在外语 阅读中的多重作用，在外语阅读中母语总共扮演着六种角色。再次，不同难度以及话题熟 悉度的阅读任务对于母语的使用具有不同的影响，若文章越难则母语的使用就越多。同时 学生的外语水平对母语的使用也有影响，外语水平越高的学生使用越少的母语，而低水平 的学生会用更多的母语来帮助理解。最后，关于母语使用的看法也是多样的，但总的来说， 学生们一致认为母语可以帮助外语阅读。 第五章，结论。本部分指出了本研究的理论和教学价值，并且为未来的研究提出了建 议。本研究的理论意义可归纳为：丰富了二语阅读过程中一语影响的研究并且提高了对二 语阅读的本质属性的了解，因此，对二语阅读理论是有意义的。并且，本研究为二语学习 中一语的使用提供了新的视角。摒弃了传统的、静止的研究方法，本研究采用动态的、多 角度的方法来对一语使用进行研究，探讨在二语阅读过程中一语的作用。本研究提供了对 未来研究的建议，详细地介绍了如何更加充分地使用有声思维这一研究方法的建议，并且 如何使用其它的研究技巧，如：观察、内省以及访谈来丰富研究。而且，本研究对二语教 学提出了看法。本文向教师们展示出二语阅读过程的双语特性，学生的外语水平以及知识 对外语阅读的作用。本文建议教师应当因材施教，还要帮助学生提高外语语言和知识水平。 另外，本研究对二语教学中是否可以使用母语这一问题提出了新的看法。现代教学法都一 致反对在二语教学中使用一语。本研究建议在外语教学中，要根据学生的不同水平来决定 是否使用母语。作为一次实验研究，本研究的不足在于实验样本太小，所得结果只能作为 今后研究的假设。此外，该课题还可以从以下几方面进一步探讨：( 1 )
