究学者们提出了各种相异的知识理论框架，试图解释究竟怎样才算真正了解一个词，但 尚未达成一致意见。除词汇外，阅读也是影响语言能力的重要因素。在二语习得中，阅 读是了解目标语言文化的重要途径。 在第二语言习得研究中，词汇与阅读的关系渐渐引起人们的关注。人们已经认识到 词汇知识对于阅读理解至关重要。词汇广度与词汇深度是词汇知识的两个基本方面，大 多数的词汇知识框架都包含这两个方面。 本研究以词汇研究专家q i a n ( 2 0 0 2 ) 建立的词汇知识框架为理论基础，以两所大学 1 5 1 名英语专业二年级学生为研究对象，用具有高信度与高效度的测试卷对其词汇知识 的广度、深度和阅读理解水平进行了测试，研究词汇的质与量，即词汇的广度和深度与 阅读理解之间的关系。测试的成绩作为原始数据，利用s p s s l 3 0 软件提供的皮尔逊相 关分析和多元回归分析程序进行分析处理。 通过对数据的分析，得出以下结果：第一，词汇广度和深度知识之间存在比较显著 的正相关关系；第二，词汇广度与阅读理解存在显著正相关关系，词汇深度与阅读理解 存在比较显著的正相关关系，而词汇广度与词汇深度作为一个整体与阅读理解也存在 显著正相关关系；第三，词汇广度和深度均可以有效预测阅读理解成绩，而两者作为一 个整体预测阅读理解更为有效。
