辽宁师范大学硕士学位论文 摘要 影视作品是一个很好的沟通渠道以及了解世界的窗口，其传播文化、加强交流的功 能日益凸显。国外影视作品也随着各国文化交流的紧密而源源不断涌入中国。在中国， 作为一种新兴和特殊的翻译模式，字幕翻译己经成为翻译不可或缺的一个组成部分，因 此深层次地探讨影视字幕及其翻译显得格外必要。无论是影视翻译实践，还是影视翻译 的相关理论研究，我国相对于落后于西方国家。我国现在影视翻译研究的不足与当前外 语影视作品大量的引进已经形成了很大的矛盾，影视翻译亟缺相关理论指导。本文以关 联理论为基础分析了美国情景喜剧老友记的字幕翻译。许多翻译学派的理论都能够 指导字幕翻译，但是笔者认为关联理论是其中比较合适的一种解释字幕翻译的理论。 关联理论认为语言交际是一种明示推理的过程，听者通过对交际者的明示行为呈现 的意图进行推理，从语境中寻找信息的关联，即交际总是从认知语境中选择最佳关联的 假设，以最小的处理努力去获取最大的语境效果，从而建立最佳关联。翻译是一个对源 语进行语际阐释的明示推理过程，是语言交际的一种方式。译文要根据意图和期待进 行取舍，译者从原交际者明示的交际行为中寻找最佳关联性( o p t i m a lr e l e v a n c e ) ，以最佳 关联性为取向。 字幕翻译具有其特殊性：时空双重限制，这使它与其他翻译类型有所不同，就更需 要译者多下功夫。字幕译者首先要对目的语观众的认知环境作出正确的假设，从而正确 估计目的语观众的的期待，然后再把握自己对原电视剧作者交际意图的理解去寻求信息 的最佳关联，运用合适的翻译策略保证观众可以以最少的努力获取最大的信息量，这与 关联理论的用最小的处理努力获取最大的语境效果，并以此提高交际的效率的观点不谋
