摘要 摘要 莎士比亚历史剧诞生于1 6 世纪末1 7 世纪初，时值英国社会步入资本主义发 展初期阶段，国力昌盛，文化繁荣。伴随民族自信心和自豪感的日益高涨，英格 兰渴望建构独立强大的民族国家，确立民族身份的诉求愈加强烈。然而，十六世 纪下半叶，英格兰最早殖民地爱尔兰却叛乱频发，成为缔造英格兰中心民族 国家的一大障碍。 文学生成与社会历史总是紧密关联的。细读莎士比亚历史剧，我们发现，伴随 着高昂的英格兰民族自豪话语，文本中对爱尔兰民族的他者化叙述也显性呈现。 因而，本研究试图将历史剧文本置于十六世纪末期英、爱冲突的历史语境下，以 新历史主义“自我形塑 、“话语流通 及“颠覆与遏制”概念为理论视角，从意 识形态、文化殖民和民族关系角度梳理出文本中对爱尔兰民族的他者化叙述特征。 本文旨在揭示这一特征形成的历史文化根源，以及在英格兰中心主导话语影响下， 该民族叙述通过历史剧在舞台上的广泛流通，参与英格兰中心民族身份构建的能 动作用。本文除序言与结论外，主体部分包括三章。 序言部分指出了莎士比亚历史剧的重要性及当前国内研究的不足，概述了本研 究的主旨，理论视角以及基本结构。 第一章通过对历史剧两个四部曲中君王形象与爱尔兰之关联的梳理，指出在英 格兰中心的主导意识形态之下，文本中英格兰民族身份的自我形塑是经由对被他 者化的爱尔兰象征性的征服和毁灭达到的。 第二章通过论证亨利四世及亨利五世中表现民族语言交锋的两幕场景 乃剧作家的刻意之笔，揭示了文本下的爱尔兰潜文本：殖民者未能在语言和文化 上同化被殖民者却反而被同化，以及反爱尔兰话语之下，英格兰对于爱尔兰文化 殖民颓势的深深焦虑。 第三章将亨利五世放置在英格兰与其凯尔特邻邦的民族关系中，通过对文
