摘要 原型批评的最大特点是整体性与系统性。诺思洛普弗莱一再强 调，在欣赏作品的时候，要往后站，从整体上把握作品，不局限于一 部作品中的一个人物，一个意象，一种叙述，而要将作品放在历时与 共时的环境中，审视作品中的人物、意向、主题、叙述与其他作品的 联系与区别，从而寻找出共同的或不同的原型。在找到原型之后，还 要进一步分析原型在作品中的变化运用，并且与作品所处的历史和文 化环境联系起来，考查作者为什么进行这样的移位运用。根据弗莱的 理论，文学批评应该将文学、神话、文化、历史等诸多因素包含在内， 发挥整体性优势；应该借助特定的文化语境，深入分析作品中的原型， 从而真正把握作品的思想内涵。弗莱认为，对于西方文学传统而言， 有两大文本体系构成了原型的本源，那就是古希腊神话和希伯来人的 圣经。本文从这两方面入手分析愤怒的葡萄中的原型。
