摘要 看不见的人是拉尔夫埃利森生前出版的唯一著作。评论家 已从多个角度对该小说进行过分析，但运用巴赫金的狂欢化诗学理论 对此进行分析的批评家相对较少。本论文运用巴赫金的狂欢理论来解 读看不见的人，试图揭示该小说所蕴含的狂欢双重性及其意义。 双重性是狂欢诗学的基本概念，贯穿于巴赫金关于狂欢问题的每 一个方面。巴赫金认为，中世纪的民间狂欢文化具有深刻的双重性， 这种双重性首先体现为客观世界的双重性，即官方和非官方的双重存 在。其次，双重性也表现为事件的双重意义。狂欢节所表达的除旧迎 新、生死交替的更新精神，正是这一事件的双重意义所在。再次，双 重性还表现为双重人格。在一定程度上，人们生活的双重环境决定了 人格的双重特性。总之，狂欢双重性就表现为事件、事物的正反合一 性与新旧交替性，还表现为过去与未来同台展现，肯定与否定对照共 生。 本文共分三部分，分别从三个方面揭示看不见的人的狂欢双 重性。第一部分集中讨论广场上黑人大众的狂欢化生活感受的核心， 即颠覆与创造的精神、摧毁与重建的生命力量。第二部分深入分析主 人公的死亡和新生同步的狂欢仪式，说明加冕和脱冕的狂欢仪式是合 二为一的，加冕的同时也意味着脱冕。第三部分主要分析具有双重人 格的狂欢人物。这种双重性或者表现为个体身上相对属性，或者表现 为不同个体间相对属性。
