硕士学位论文 m a s t e r st h e s i s 中文摘要 现阶段，文学批评和文体分析是分析文学作品的两大方法。人们对文学作品的 分析由来已久。被作为分析对象的作品通常是从文学批评的角度，从功能语言学的 角度进行分析地较少。 用功能语言学分析语篇有两个目的，这些目的是通过对语篇进行描述分析和解 释评价来完成的。一是通过描述分析来理解语篇是如何把意义表达清楚的，为什么 要这样表达；二是通过分析来解释评价语篇，说明文章的主题意义和深刻内涵。 本文尝试利用系统功能语法对海明威的短篇小说雨中猫进行功能文体分析， 目的是进一步探讨主题意义是如何通过语言来表达的，同时使读者更好地理解和欣 赏该小说。 本文首先介绍了系统功能语言学的基本框架，概述了其理论及主要观点，并引 出本文的具体分析框架；然后回顾了功能语言学的基本理论及其应用，探讨元功能 的概念功能，人际功能和语篇功能的在小句层面的结构分析，并总结他人运用功能 语言学进行文学语篇分析的尝试及他人对此小说所做的文学批评及语言学尝试。本 文的主体部分是运用功能语法的三大纯理功能分析小说的主题意义及文体特点，并 对小说中的小句从三个方面分析：经验功能的及物性系统，人际功能的语气和情态 和语篇功能的主位结构和衔接。 通过对该小说的元功能分析，本研究有以下几点发现： 1 尽管海明威对文中夫妻关系，性格只字未提，但通过对语气系统，情态，言 语功能等的人际功能的分析，我们可以看出夫妻的关系淡漠，情感疏远；丈夫为人 冷漠无情，对妻子缺少应有的关爱，妻子希望被爱而得不到丈夫的爱，对自己的生 活现状极为不满。对他们对话的人际功能分析也说明在他们的婚姻中，夫妻两人不 是平等的，丈夫处于主导地位，而妻子处于附属地位，没有多大发言权。文中与冷 漠的丈夫形成对比的是旅店老板和女佣，他们关心照顾妻子，愿意帮助她。他们是 她乏味婚姻的一抹亮色。 2 通过对及物性系统的分析，我们发现丈夫参与的物质过程非常少，丈夫是懒 惰而缺乏活力的；妻子的心理过程很多，说明她对她的婚姻和生活现状不满。她希 望能爱并被爱，她希望得到自己婚姻与生活中缺少的东西：爱，浪漫，温馨的家， 乐趣与幸福。文中的场景描写也说明夫妻俩是异乡人，与他们的暂住地是不协调的。
