摘要 本文运用维索尔伦的顺应理论研究文化意象的翻译以及意象翻译策略的选 择问题。以顺应论这一最新研究成果为理论基础，采用理论指导与例证分析结 合的方式对文化意象的翻译进行了研究。旨在为文化意象的翻译研究提供新的 理论视角，探究译者在进行文化意象翻译活动和翻译策略选择中的顺应。 本文首先探讨了将顺应理论应用于文化意象翻译研究的可行性。维索尔伦 的顺应理论为语言语境和语言使用与翻译的研究提供了新的语用学视角。维索 尔伦认为，由于语言本身具有变异性、商讨性和顺应性的特点，使用语言的过 程就是选择语言并做出变通抉择的过程。翻译的过程就是使用语言的过程，同 时也就是做出选择的过程。这就为采用顺应论作为文化意象翻译研究的理论基 础提供了可能性。同时，维索尔伦提出的交际语境对文化意象翻译的研究具有 参考价值。 其次，本文在语料分析的基础上描述了译者如何按照交际目的做出顺应以 及翻译策略的选择。根据顺应论，主要从三个方面探讨译者在文化意象翻译中 做出的顺应，即文化语境、译者的心理动机以及读者的认知。 通过理论指导和实例分析相结合的方式，本文有如下主要发现： 一、将顺应论引入到文化意象翻译中，为文化意象翻译提供了一个科学的 合理的理论依据，从新的理论视角来研究文化意象的翻译，推进文化意象翻译 的研究。 二、在文化意象翻译的过程中，译者有意识地从文化语境的不同方面进行 语言选择，使用目的语来表达作者的交际目的。为了最大程度上传达作者的交 际目的，译者会通过文化语境顺应来选择适当的意象翻译策略。换言之，基于 对译语读者文化语境的顺应，译者需要根据作者不同的交际目的采取适当的文 化意象翻译策略并做出语言选择。 三、在顺应的过程中，译者需要明确自身的心理动机或交际目的以及译语
