摘要 模糊限制语可用于表达作者对事物认知的程度，表明作者对话语及读者的态度，因 此在英语学术论文写作中起着极其重要的作用。然而中国作者在模糊限制语的使用方面 存在诸多问题，应引起特别关注并加以研究。本文通过对比模糊限制语在英语本族语者 与中国英语学习者英语学术文献中的使用情况，探讨了中国英语学习者模糊限制的使用 特点以及导致其使用不当的因素。在本研究中，采纳了h y l a n d 对学术语料库中模糊限 制语的定义及h y l a n d 与v a r t t a l a 对模糊限制语的分类，建立了英语本族语者和中国英 语学习者两个学术英语语料库( n e a c 与c l a e c ) ，运用w o r d s m i t ht o o l s3 0 和s p s s 1 3 0 ，对两库中的模糊限制语的使用频率及分布进行了统计分析。研究统计发现，英语 本族语者与中国英语学习者在模糊限制语的使用倾向上存在相似性，都倾向于使用动 词、副词类，而较少使用名词类的模糊限制语。然而，中国英语学习者在对模糊限制语 的使用方面与英语本族语者仍然存在较大差异。例如，中国英语学习者在对动词、副词、 情态动词及名词类的模糊限制语的使用数量和种类上都少于英语本族语者，除此而外， 中国作者倾向于使用语气较强的动词和情态动词，使得中国作者的学术论文语气显得过 于肯定和直接，违背了学术英语写作的习惯，从而有可能影响中国作者的学术论文在国 际上的推广。导致上述不得体使用模糊限制语的因素可能是中国作者对英语的掌握程度 不够、思维和文化与写作习惯的差异、模糊限制语本身的复杂性、缺乏其使用意识及指 导、以及母语迁移等。最后，作者对模糊限制语的教与学提出了一些建议，以期提高中 国英语学习者使用模糊限制语的意识及其使用的准确性和得体性。
