西南交通大学硕士学位论文第1 页 摘要 、本文拟从同构的角度探讨在英语中如何最大限度地体现汉语习语的 内容与形式。“同构 一词最初广泛应用于自然科学中，用以说明两个或 两个以上的事物或体系之间存在的相似性。随着时间的推移，该词逐渐也 被其他领域借用来说明同样的现象。奈达在构建功能对等理论时，为了解 决社会文化因素的对等，将该词引入到翻译领域，提出了“功能同构体 的概念。这一概念使得形式不同，但可以引起不同语言受众近似反应的对 应者之间相互转换有了理论依据。同时，由维特根斯坦提出的“家族相似 性”，尽管在措词上与奈达的“功能同构体 不同，但内容实质却是相同 的。它解释了拥有不同外在形式的各类语言都可以被冠以“语言”的名称， 同属“语言家族，是因为它们之间存在着一种相似性。从而，语际转换 才成为可能。无论是“家族相似性”，还是“功能同构体 ，都阐述了在不 同的语言中，相似的语言形式或者不同的语言形式在具有相似功能时，就 构成了同构体。 作为语言的精华与文化的结晶，习语形式简洁，内涵意义却极其丰富。 汉语中的习语形式多样，包括成语、俗语、谚语、歇后语，以及部分粗俗 语。由于习语结构的固定性、形式上的合成性与意义统一性，并且含有丰 富的修辞手段，因此长期以来，在翻译习语时如何保持形式与内容的忠实 性成为翻译界研究的焦点。针对习语的翻译，学者们提出了一些应该遵循 的原则，但大体上与严复先生的“信、达、雅标准相一致，最终可归结 为两点：忠实于源语的内容与形式；内容优先于形式。 笔者以杨氏夫妇以古典名著红楼梦的英译本中习语的翻译为例， 分别从词汇、句法和修辞三个层面讨论了汉语习语与其英译表达之间存在 的同构关系，并利用这三个层面的同构体，除意译法之外，对该译本中所 采用的其他四种翻译策略进行分析研究。这四种翻译策略为直译、替换、 变异替换和结构套用。 通过分析，笔者认为同构理论在汉语习语的英译中具有一定的指导意 义，可以同时有效地保留其原有的内容与形式。但由于源语与目标语之间 西南交通大学硕士学位论文第1 i 页 同构的程度存在差异，致使前者的内容与形式在后者中出现某种程度的失 真。同构理论在应用时所产生的这一局限性，亟待进一步的解决。
