摘要 查特莱夫人的情人是劳伦斯的辞世之作，其中成功塑造了康妮和梅勒 斯两个理想人物，他们为实现和谐而付出的不懈努力凝聚了劳伦斯本人的良苦用 心。在前人研究的基础上，本论文结合传统的女权主义批评方法，糅合了拉康、 萨特和弗洛姆等人的自由观、爱与意志的对立等理论，逐步从小说中男女主人公 付出的艰苦努力中，印证了为实现男女关系和谐所必需的步骤。这种和谐不仅是 查特莱夫人的情人的主题之一，而且具有一定社会价值。 本论文主要分三个章节。第一章，探究了查特莱夫人的情人中三个主人 公康妮和克利福德，康妮和梅勒斯之间存在的冲突，排除了前两者达成 和谐的可能性，并证明了后两者之间和谐的可能性；第二章，论述了两主人公为 达成和谐而迈出的第一步相互的承认或认可；第三章，验证了两主人公为实 现和谐而迈出的第二步，个人意志的放弃；其中，康妮和梅勒斯为消除个人内心
