约翰济慈颂歌中的两个世界研究 学科专业：英语语言文学 指导教师：晏奎教授 研究方向：英美文学 研究生：黄铃( s 2 0 0 5 0 8 0 2 ) 内容摘要 约翰济慈是英国1 9 世纪最伟大的浪漫主义诗人之一，是英国文学史上和拜 伦、雪莱齐名的第二代浪漫主义诗人。济慈不但具有天才，而且笔耕颇勤，著述甚丰， 在短短的一生中，先后出版了三部诗集，给世界文学宝库留下了珍贵遗产，对后世 的诗歌创作有着极其深远的影响。其诗歌不论在形式上还是在内容上都给人留下了 美的享受。纵观近年来国内外的济慈研究，多以其诗歌的主题和内容为主，注意分 析其诗歌的现实性和社会性，对颂歌的研究也主要集中在其深层主题思想上，虽然 也有评论家提出过济慈诗歌中存在着两个世界，却并没深入探讨其之所以如此的原 因。如果说能填补一项研究空白的话，至少将有助于揭示其诗歌美学的魅力，对现 代诗歌的创作和欣赏带来些许启迪和指导意义，这正是本论文写作的初衷。 本文主要从以下三个方面探讨济慈颂歌中的两个世界： 第一，两个世界存在许多相似的标记。比如，人间与天堂，死亡与永生，短暂 与永恒，物质与精神，知与未知，有限与无限，现实与浪漫，以及自然与超自然。 现实世界是关于世俗的，变化无常和死亡与其相随相生。而理想世界是神化的，是 永恒的。 第二，两个世界并非孤立存在，它们之间存在一定的联系。在其颂歌中，济慈 大量地运用想像，从而把两个世界很好地联系了起来。借助想像力济慈在其作品中， 建造了一个根源于现实而又高于现实的理想世界。济慈颂歌里一个显著的特点就是： 作品中的说话者不满于现实世界，为了逃离世间的苦痛悲伤他去到一个理想的国度， 西南大学硕士学位论文 内容摘要 但是他又不能完全脱离现实，从而又回到世俗世界。 第三，通过创造一个不同于现实的一个理想世界，济慈表达了他对永恒美的追 求。在浪漫主义作家中他出身最卑微，受教育最少，且英才早逝，他一生命运多舛， 人世间所有的美好对他来说都是一场美梦，他只有借助诗歌来寄托他对生活的冥思， 这些思想包括爱情、艺术、诗歌、痛苦和自然界。尤为引人注目的是他颂歌表现出 的蕴涵着丰富的感官意象及感性美的两个世界现实世界和想象世界，在他的颂
