（课程与教学论专业论文）母语对二语写作的影响：在英语写作中应用母语翻译法的实验研究.pdf

摘要 母语思维是二语习得过程中较为常见的现象，二语学生在写作过程中如何运用母语思维? 这个问题在国内外都受到较多的关注。在所有的相关研究中，研究者们讨论了母语思维的 作用，母语思维的使用与二语水平，写作任务，写作时间等变量的关系及它在写作过程中 的使用量。但很少有研究从用母语写初稿而后再翻译成目的语，即有意地使用母语翻译法， 这个角度来探讨母语对二语作文质量的影响；而已有的研究也因测量方法，写作任务和被 试样本不同而得出了不同的结论。对于中国非英语专业的大学生来说，由于英语知识的欠 缺，母语翻译法一直是他们在英语写作中常用的一种策略。鉴于此背景，本研究也以此为 着眼点，将讨论在英语写作过程中，指导学生有意地使用母语翻译法，对英语写作质量会 有何影响。 本研究以中北大学的4 2 个大二学生为被试对象，采用文本分析和调查问卷的方法，来 回答两个问题：第一，直接用英文写和母语翻译模式下写出的英语作文在质量上是否有显 著区别? 第二，两组写作模式各自的利弊。 通过定性分析，研究表明在母语翻译模式中，作文在内容，结构和文体方面都有显著提 高，具体体现在文章的细节，对主要观点的阐述，组织的逻辑性和观点表达的清晰性和旬 式的多样性方面；但在词汇使用这方面，两种模式下产生出的作文并没有显著意义的差别。 定量分析表结果表明，两种模式下产生出的文章在流利度方面没有显著区别，复杂度在翻 译模式中显著提高，而文章的准确度在翻译模式下则相对差一些。调查问卷表明，多数学 生在英文写作中喜欢直接用英文写，因为这样比较节省时间而且有利于他们培养语感；但 同时他们也承认英语思维也会阻碍他们思路的发展。而母语翻译法相对来说，不但有助于 他们敞开思路，总体安排文章结构，而且让他们更有可能尝试使用多种句式：但它的缺点 是太浪费时间，而且如果不加以引导会使学生过渡依赖母语，从而不利于英语的学习。总 体来看被试学生一致认为母语翻译法可作为平时练习写作和学习英语的一种有效策略。 根据研究结果，作者提出几点建议：第一：在英语写作过程中，教师可指导学生有选择 性地使用母语以发挥母语的积极作用；第二，在英语写作教学中，教师可根据学生语言水 平设计一些翻译练习，以此来促使学生探索和掌握他们潜在的英语知识；第三，鉴于英语 写作是一种复杂的过程，因此教师可指导学生写作时进行分阶段草稿以此来降低难度：在 第一草稿中仅集中在内容和结构的构思上，在第二草稿中，集中于语言的修饰上。最后 作者指出了该研究的局限性和将来值得进一步探索的领域。 关键词 母语思维母语翻译法 英语写作 a b s t r a c t t h ei m p a c to
