Research Report-about Table MannersThis report has been divided into six parts: Part one: Team Basic Information. Part two: Main Introduction. Part three: Summary of Methods. Part four: Research Progress. Part five: Data Analysis. Part six: Results and Gains. Part seven: Conclusions(including findings, limitations, suggestions). Part one: Team Basic Information. Project title: Table Manners. Project time: 20th.Aug.2013-12th.Sep.2013. Team leader: Xinmeng Wei. Team members: Haolun Chu, Wenjie Ge, Tao Li. WePart two: Main Introduction During the summer semester, we four people together have collaborated in a English project studying about table manners. Four team members come from two different departments including Economic and Management Department and Math department. Team leader Xinmeng Wei, team members Haolun Chu, Wenjie Ge and Tao Li. Considering that most people nowadays pay no attention to the table manners when they are on the table, we choose this topic. We have four weeks to finish our project. From 20th.Aug.2013 till 12th.Sep.2013. During this project, we can learn about the table manners. And we hope that other people can further their knowledge by our introduction , and by all means they can pay more attention to it when they are on the table in the future. Meanwhile the importance of the table manners can impulse more people to succeed, which will also bring benefits to them. Our research enclose two main parts: the first is to introduce some essential Chinese table manners, not only students but also researchers can learn something important. The second is the differences about Chinese table manners and foreign manners, where we can broaden our horizons and improve our knowledge. We all want to complete this project perfectly, because we expect to share the happiness and achievement we made in the research. We have the chance to cooperate to finish the same objective and we have devoted all ourselves into it, whoever he is, and eventually we have taste the fruit of success. Part three: Summary of Methods. In order to convey the information we want to give, we not only surf the Internet but also go to the library to collect the common sense about table manners to finish the PPT. Besides, according to the information collected, we share some typical table manners to further study. Furthermore, we four team members have a salon to share our opinions and findings to know some other manners as well. During the first week, we acquaint each other, and know ourselves more, while making friendship with each other. Afterwards, we have made the Project Proposal Format, which includes project objectives, research background, methods, questions and so on. And during the second week, in the class, we have seen some good videos given by our teacher Mrs.Han, which strongly give us some excellent examples made by the precedent. We have learnt some good methods to make the PPT and address our speech. Mrs.Han spare her class time for us so that we can have a discussion on our project. How to improve more? How to use some good methods to make our research good impression on our audiences. After the class, we have collected the information by surfing the Internet, and we have a discussion sharing the information we searched. The third week we still watch the video including public speaking. Mrs.Han also taught us how to make PPT suitably and perfectly, how to perform well and behave naturally while delivering the speech. We have learnt some good methods that we can use some famous proverb saying in our PPT. At the weekend, we have finished our PPT, and we all felt satisfied. The second class of the week, we have improved the PPT together and attempt to use new ways to embellish our project. The first class of the fourth week, we did a rehearsal on the class. Two days later,we four people gave a perfect performance there. And we thought we had achieved the goal expected. Part five: Data Analysis.We have done the research on the table manners of China and foreign countries.The traditional table manners are about seating,eating,and drinking.We talk about some taboos,too.The foreign table manners which are involved in the topic are mainly western.Western peoples table manners are very different form Chinese.In addition,we also find the Japanese table manners are unique,which is very interesting.Part six: Results and Gains.The four-week-long project have taught us a lot:1:We have make new friends through the project, the collaboration, the discussion, the sharing and so on strengthen our friendship.2:We have recognized the importance of the collaboration. During the project, we not only make the task of everyone but also strive for the same goal together. We have learnt a lot, for we cant imagine what it would be if we complete the project respectively, without communication and cooperation.3:We also learn information about table manners. The people who have improved this kind of knowledge most are our team members. We have experienced the process of making the project, the search, the discussion, the presentation etc.4:We also practice our ability to make things successfully, which will benefit us in the future.Part seven: Conclusions1: Findings: We develop our knowledge of table manners, either Chinese table manners or foreign table manners.
