Teaching process:Step 1: warming up(1)Before the class, enjoy a video about doing choresT: We know that, in this video, its talking about a boy doing the chores, but he didnt do it well, and it made his mom very angry.(2) Show the teaching aims(on the PPT)T: Lets begin our lesson, you can see, in this lesson, well going to learn the reading skill and some key points, I believe these will help you to learn the passage well.Step 2: LeadingShow 2 questions, let students answer them in groups.T: The whole unit is talking about the chores, so I want to know your answers about the 2 questions. Who can tell me your answers?(Let students answer questions in free, dont put up their hands, just stand up to answer them.)1. What do you often do to help your parents at home?2. Do you think children should help out with chores at home?Step 3: Thinking -read 2bT: Good! Now Ill show you the passage about the parents whether they think young people should do chores at home. And before you read, I want you to know the reading skill-skimming. Please look at the screen and read the words.(Wait a minute) Now, Ill play the recording, please read it by yourselves and think of the 2 questions.1. What is Ms. Millers opinion?2. What is Mr. Smiths opinion?Step 4: Discussing-finish 2cT: Now, lets check the answers, can you find the answers? Please show us.(let some students show their answers) Good, the answers are wonderful, please discuss with your group about 2c, and write down your answers on your books.Step 5: PresentationShow the answers of 2c. T: Girls groups write pros, and boys groups write the cons.
