(3mins)stage 3 read the passage and explain it paragraphs by paragraphs. and then point out the following language points & useful structures in this passage.(25mins)1. wind vt. 1)蜿蜒;绕.弯曲前进;沿(曲折蜿蜒的路线)前行 eg:a path winds its way to the top of the mountains until we got to its top. 2)缠绕;环绕 eg: she wound her injured leg with a bandage and continued her journey. 3)给上发条 eg:dont forget to wind the clock, or it wont work. 2. it is the + first +super-class of an adjective 表示第几长,宽.3. occupied by 在句中为过去分词作后置定语。 1)be occupied in doing sth. 正在做某事 eg:the flooded people are occupied in building houses. 2)occupy oneself in/with =be busy with sth. 忙于做某事 eg: from the early morning we have occupied ourselves in our test. 4. pass through 1)经过,通过 ; 2)经过、经历5. extend 1)延长;继续 the wet weather extended to june. 2)延伸;扩大 our school has extended twice. 3)伸出;伸展(身体的一部分) 6. such as / for example / namely 1)三个词都用来举例说明 2)such as 后常接名词或名词性短语,不将例子全部举出后面可以接 and so on. 3) for example= for instance ,其后接句子、短语、单个词都可以 4)namely = that is to say 需把所有的例子一一列出。 7. admire 1)vt 钦佩;赞赏 the boy is admired by his courage. 夸赞,恭维;尊重,尊敬 i admire him for his honesty. 喜欢;想要喜欢 i just admire to get letters. 2)vi 惊讶、惊奇 we all admire at his unexpected deeds. 3) admiration n. gain ones admiration 赢得某人的敬佩 stage 4. consolidation by checking their answers to exercise 3complete the following sentences with the proper forms of the words and phrases given.
